Continuous Glucose Monitoring

That's a long time with such a low sugar. I've dealt with RH since about 18 months out. For me the worst is when it happens while I'm sleeping. I wake up and just bolt to the kitchen. There are some things on my never eat list. Oatmeal tops that list. My quick fix is half a banana with peanut butter while I'm making something more substantial. The last year I have had much fewer episodes. I think my mostly toast free life style is helping me.

It sounds like your doctors are working hard to figure out a plan. I hope you find the easiest way to control it.

The banana w/peanut butter sounds like a good fix.

It's not a good fix for everyone. The banana is high in sugar. I have never been a diabetic. Different things have worked over the years.

Banana with PB seams like an easy fix ..But for me they are worst than candies, or simple glucose. They'll fix my BS temporarily, but 1 hour later that brings even a worse RH. Some starches- sugar would trigger my RH even when I eat that with proteins and fat. Banana, while potatoes, crackers - are a few that do that every time if I have more that a small tsp of that.

I haven't tried it so I don't know but what you are saying sure makes sense.

I am happy for you with your toast free lifestyle...I know that has been a challenge. I was talking with a WLS newbie tonight about being toast free...things I could get away with here and there losing, I can't do anymore. I do miss toast. When they said food funerals before WLS who knew- toast? I really don't miss the pasta, the faux pizza whatever works for me...when I have that craving. I can make some kind of SF dessert if that hits. But toast. no substitute.

Pizza does nothing for me either.

I love the bread box/garage I bought for the kitchen. Not seeing potential toast products helps me.

I guess one of the problems I'm having is that my BS is dropping while I sleep, but it doesn't wake me up. They're very concerned about that.

I keep glucose tablets next to the bed. If I wake up with a low, I know it and grab a tablet. It gets me back to normal in about 15 minutes.

I keep them with me at all times too! I really try not to use it. If I do I follow it up with protein.
