I am sorry to hear that...

GB attack are very painful. I know. Plus they can cause so many more issues, like pancreatitis, or even burst- causing severe issues in your abdominal cavity. The bile is very toxic to any tissue so having that and bacteria inside your belly is really dangerous.

plus - it may be a couple of weeks or longer before your surgeon can schedule you for surgery. I woudl call them and see them.. then based on his experience - decide if i can wait or not. then ...find the money.

I have MY GB taken out after it was determined it is not longer working...it was the most painful 2 weeks waiting for surgery. The surgery was lap, and I was back to work in 4 days.

My friend, waited to long, after 6 months her GB was seriously infected, and she needed open surgery, plus had to be for 4 days in the hospital, off work for 4 weeks after. She had to take "unpaid leave " because she only had 1.5 weeks paid vacation... at the end - the pain, the longer surgery, and the "3 weeks lost wages" cost her more than if she took a loan and had the surgery 6 months earlier...

Yes, all this I'm afraid of. I've been having pain for a while pre-op! I thought it was my massive hiatal hernia. I've had pain off and on since surgery and have never been able to tolerate protein shakes because of it. I'm so angry because had I known before, it could have been removed when I had WLS.

Your GB could have been fine at the time of surgery. Mine was. It failed app 6 months after. And the pain could have been combination of hernia and GB...

I hope you get help... maybe you can wait... only a good doc can tell you... "GOOD doc".

HUGS... I don't wish pain like that on anyone..

See if there is a payment program. Our hospital has a program called HELP financial, zero interest, monthly payments. check into this and PUSH to get this done ASAP@@!

Mine died after the first 3 months and I had mine out last Sept. My surgery was Dec 2015, diagnosed 5 months out, then had in sept 2016. Don't wait.

I will check my hospital but I doubt my surgeon will. I feel angry that he never took into consideration that my pain pre-op could have been from my gallbladder. I had a hiatal hernia. He never even checked my gall bladder. I bet he did this on purpose for more money. Seems to be the going thing now days with Doctors.
