So happy that your return to work is going well. :)

I think a big part of success is knowing ourselves and what our triggers are. I definitely have a lot to learn though. I was sure I wasn't a food addict in spite of my weight. Having WLS helped me to realize that I definitely am.

This whole journey is an ongoing learning experience isn't it Teena? I'm constantly learning new things about myself and am open to trying what has worked for others.

I thought I was just like you... just an unfortunate soul that couldn't lose weight, and occasionally ate the wrong thing...

I'm only starting to see that in reality, most of us have a food addiction, and I'm definitely included in that...

even now, when I'm set on eating something I shouldn't... I feel this need to be sneaky about it... wrong.wrong.wrong...

Me, too. The worst of all of this is that I am not the type of person to buy cookies, candy, snacks and treats, but my mother-in-law does buy those things for my kids. The only place to store these horrible things is the shelf right under my coffee maker.

I get a sweet tooth every night. Without fail. I usually try to have a coffee, spoon of PB or cashews on hand, but as soon as I see ARBUCKLE MOUNTAIN FRIED PIES right under my coffee pot, I think of sneaking about a quarter of one just to make myself sick on!

Seriously....WTH is wrong with me???

Had an inch and a half of snow overnight here in Illinois. Woke up this morning with the sneezes and a sinus headache so I'm getting a late start. Lily and I will do our 3.2 miles in a few minutes as she absolutely LOVES snow and it's not deep enough to be too sloppy or slick. QOTD faux items are a slippery slope for me so other than a rather bland protein bar for my bedtime snack I just stay away from them. I even make sure to not get the really tasty candy bar like protein bars as even that is a trigger for me. I used to do yogurt at bedtime but at 41/2 years out it just doesn't fill me up anymore. Post op 41/2 years and weight at 117.4 today. Here's the food plan B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 31/2 oz deli turkey with 100 call cup of guacamole D 31/2 oz turkey meatloaf 1/2 c Tuscan blend veggies S mission one chocolate brownie protein bar. Have a great day everyone and make some smart choices that move you one step closer to your goal!

I do the same with protein shakes! Last week, I mixed a bit of banana one with a chocolate one, and it was sooo good! But my brain went danger, danger! I'll stick to my basic shakes, to be on the safe Side!

Good morning JB and crew! Love the Oprah pic.

QOTD: That has been plagueing me lately... to make food that tastes like the stuff I used to make or not. Fist problem for me: it does not really taste the same so it is usually disappointing. Second, exactly what you said. It normalizes the fact that it is unhealthy food. I have tried it a couple of times. Once at thanksgiving, once at christmas. I made these almond flour cookies that had almond flour, butter, splenda and nuts. Oh they were very good. Almost exactly like shortbread cookies. And I ate a lot of them. "They have protein in them! Mostly just nuts!" Well, technically. 2 grams of protein per 82 calorie cookie. Those are not very good ratios... if I ever have to make cookies I will make those, but they are dangerous for me to have sitting around.

B: Premier Protein vanilla with coffee and Miralax

L: chicken satay with peanut butter dipping sauce

D: ham with mustard, salad with salsa ranch dressing

S: Dannon greek cherry, 1 oz beef jerky coins, diet crN deink with water

Totals: 634 calories 83 protein 36 carbs 14 fat

So hey, I am eating beef or turkey jerky every day lately. It is easy to pack... I bought a jar of those beef jerky "coins" that I can keep in the car. Retaining a little water now, is that ok? Scale has stopped for last couple of weeks (6 months out) and normally I do not worry but maybe so much salt is not good for me. I am really getting into a rut which I think may be a good thing.

have a great day everyone!

You could try doing without the jerky for a few days and see if the scale starts moving again. Good luck.
