Good morning everyone!

Day 5 post op and I feel kind of like myself again. Showered and ready to take the boys to the park (hoping we can reach the playground despite the snow on the ground).

Yesterday I got 30oz of water and 56g of protein and I'm pretty darn proud of that fact. It takes a serious amount of constant focus and sipping but is do-able. I watched Finding Dory in ode to my, "Just keep sipping, sipping, sipping" moto yesterday.

QOTD: I have a pretty damanding job and do end up working at home. Case in point I spent hours catching up on work emails last night in preparation for returning to work tomorrow. Thankfully, I have amazing staff who all pull together for me when I am away and a boss who is amazing. I am really lucky because I do love my job most of the time.

B: 4oz Nectar Grapefruit protein drink

S: 4oz Nectar Grapefruit protein drink

L: 4oz Chicken Bone Broth

S: 4oz Unjury Chicken Soup

D: 4oz Unjury Chicken Soup

Call for input- the sweet protein shakes are starting to gross me out, any non-sweet recommendations?

Thanks everyone!

I made it to about 3 weeks when I had that issue. I still can't stomach the thought of having to drink a sweet shake, ugh. I ordered unflavored Unjury and added it to soup, yogurt and crystal light. It got me through.

I'm sure it won't be long until you can transition over to yogurt and ricotta, right? Those were lifesavers for me when the sweet shakes got to be too much. Try out a few different kinds, though. The Nectar ones are really good but always tasted particularly sweet to me.

QoTD: my work life balance is terrible. While the ability to WFH is nice on days where a kid is sick, it's not great for work/life balance. I tend to work a lot in the evenings and on weekends. Not as much since surgery since I tire out faster, but otherwise. Part of it is just my own interest in the work and it solving problems, not because it's expected.

B: 2 oz corned beef

L: 2-3 oz cod, few bites of caesar salad

D: 4 oz deli turkey, 1 slice smoked gouda

Good afternoon everyone. It is so cold here. My weather app app says 16 F and 0 with the windchill. At least it's sunny.

I usually only work from home when overtime is offered. But we've been so busy and I hate getting behind so I've been thinking about maybe doing a couple of hours during the week and on Saturday just to keep ahead.

As I mentioned to Fozziebear, I went shopping at Walmart yesterday. I just bought a maxi skirt. I got a bag of clothes from our local buy and sell last week. The bag even came with a spring jacket that I really love. Trying not to spend too much but still have to look presentable at work. Fortunately we have a casual dress code so that makes it easier.

I'm late posting so I actually know my whole menu. :)

B: Chocolate protein shake

L: leftover jerk chicken with cauliflower and cheese

D: Ribs in the instant pot and probably some more cauliflower

S: Protein Custard
