What's on Your Sunday Menu, RNYers?
Morning fellow pouch playmates! (Seems like we should make an OH WLS calendar!)
I've been on my run and just finished breakfast for the family. I've been annoyed since yesterday cause my hubby is way behind in folding and putting away his laundry and then the coat closet overfloweth since they won't hang their coats- they place them on the hooks. All coat**** the floor this morning. Hubby is getting cold shoulder till the room isn't flooded by his clothes being everywhere.
qotd: work-life balance is one of the reasons I work in gov't. I never worry about taking time off and only take work home if I choose to. I've made clear to my superiors that I have no interest in working beyond my regular hours. In fact I'm horribly short staffed at the moment- but I refuse to work more since it'll leave the impression I can handle it. Nope-- they need to get me more help. I will let my staff call/text me when I'm off cause I don't want them to feel stranded, but those are the only calls I'll take. If they want me on call they should issue me a work phone.

Good morning everyone!
I shopped my way through another Value Village store yesterday with really good success. A little too good I think. Last night I googled their locations (wild Saturday night here!!) and I there's a very real possibility that I'll find my way to one of them this afternoon. On the plus side the influx of new appropriately sized clothing has prompted me to part with a lot of the poorly fitting clothes I was hesitant to say goodbye to. I've had piles forming in the basement of clothes I haven't worn in months but I kept staling on bagging them up and moving them out. For anyone who may be struggling with the same problem I recommend trying the stuff on. Wow. That was a huge eye opener. 100+ lbs later and my old favs look ridiculous. Last night I put on what was my favourite work out shirt when I starting this whole thing in July, it's a 4x and at the time I loved it because I felt it was a great fit and made me look smaller. Correction. Losing weight and putting it back on made me look smaller. It was a mix of happy and sad emotions as I held it out from my body and saw how much extra space there is now. The old me filled every last bit of that shirt. I did keep a few pieces for reference and ended up with 2 big bags of stuff that I never thought I'd say goodbye to. Go me!!
QOTD Work life balance was a huge issue in my previous job and finding a better balance is a high priority for me going forward. As a 18+ year employee in a small family run business I had a lot of responsibility and I took so much of it home with me...thinking about jobs, problem solving, phone calls with the boss to discuss the day we just had/what's coming up, visiting with customers "after hours", stop by here and pick up that, swing by ___ while I'm out on the weekend because I'll need ___ next week.... the list was endless. I was dedicated, loyal and my work ethic was unmatched by even the owner. That sounds so conceited but it was said to me time and time again. Then one morning you walk into work, walk back out two hours later unemployed and all that time and effort has you no further ahead than the halfwits who could barely muster the effort to show up some days. That doesn't mean I won't work hard and put in the effort, that's just not in my nature, but my boundaries have been redefined and considerably tightened.
B- coffee w/ 1/2 premier chocolate

Good for you! I don't hold on to clothes and now I wish I had kept come of my skinnier clothes. I did get s new maxi skirt at Walmart yesterday. I tried on a 1x and it fit well and it was $20.00. But then I was looking in the regular sizes and they had the same skirt for $18. I measured the xxl against the 1x and they measured exactly the same. So I saved $2 and bought something from the regular section. It's a jersey material with stripes. I really like it.

I got a GC at Christmas that I haven't used yet and I think now might be the time. Slim pickin's in the wardrobe department these days. I've had some luck online but I think I might try going into a store too, it's considerably more fun now. I would have to promise to stick to the sales racks though or maybe if I found a basic that would survive a shift or two in sizes. The changes are happening to quickly right now and I can't afford not to be thrifty.

Just another example of how costly it is to be overweight/obese. Mentally, emotionally, financially...
I picked up a sweater yesterday that was a large, mind you I was wearing a 2x tank top under it so sizes are stupid but that doesn't mean I don't understand the excitement. It's encouraging to see our clothing options open up and the sizes include fewer X's. The smaller price tags are a great bonus too!
