Good morning menu crew! I'm so happy it's Friday. I have to admit that I have enjoyed being back to work and really have started to feel my energy levels return. The scale yesterday and today put me at 249.6 which is 45 lbs from my highest weight! I expected to see a loss today but oh well. Last week the scale was stuck at 251.1 so I'm glad to be out of the 250s and now I'm closer to onederland than I am to the 300s. :)

photo Friday! You and your bestie! So I have 3 pics for you guys- the top is my family. I love them so much and they have all been so amazing since I've had my surgery. Hubby and I will be married 21 years next month. He was so worried about me having surgery but he's been so supportive since.

The middle pic are my 2 partners in crime lol. We have cruised together 4 out of the last 5 years. The dark haired one is the one we went to spend the weekend with last month and the blonde is the one who lives in South Carolina that we are going to visit next month. We chat every day and always have lots of laughs when we're together.

Mans the last pic is my oldest friend. We're from the same town in Newfoundland and we're distant cousins. Our dads were best friends when they were growing up. Our husbands are first cousins and also best friends and our kids are like siblings all together. We stayed at their house the weekend of my surgery and Charles and my mom stayed there when I was in the hospital.

Menu today!

B: Kaizen Protein mixed with decaf coffee - they sent a free sample so I'm trying it out.

L: 1/2 a pork souvlaki stick with tzatziki sauce. The Greek restaurant across from my work sells these for $4. I wasn't sure if I would tolerate them or not but it went down well yesterday. $2 lunch = not too shabby! Excited to have this protein option close by. They have chicken as well.

D: I'm not sure. We are invited to a 50th birthday party for a friend of the family so I will eat before we go as I have no idea if there will be any healthy options.

S: Greek yogurt and a protein Custard are in the fridge at work. Not sure if I will get to them or not.

Good morning friends! I'm very happy it's Friday, too and I'm happy your energy is returning! I have had a lot going on at work and even though I should probably spend time working and catching up this weekend, I'm going to take the opportunity to rest and recharge instead.

Here are a few pics! If you didn't see this on Facebook, here is a pic from Wednesday night compared to a pic when we were two. This girl was my first best friend and even when we go years between talking, we can catch right back up. My newest best friend, of course, is Grim. This past year has been amazing. We took this pic in the car this morning when he dropped me off at the train (in anticipation of this post!).


I must admit that today's "menu" is not really a role model menu. But I was running late and did a grab and go kind of day. The good news is that I always have lots of protein forward snacks to grab so it's not the worst. There just aren't any fresh foods...

18 months post op:

B: There will be a lot of coffee.......+ protein bar
S: Moon cheese
L: Roast Beef and Guacamole on Mary's Gone Crackers
S: Sargent Balanced break
D: Meat (tbd!)

Vitamins: patches on (d3, multi and iron) And oral (2 additional iron and magnesium)

Exercise: still resting the leg. Hoping to be back at it tomorrow for a long run.

I did see that on FB. Makes me wish I had a pic of Rosie and me when we were kids. She was my maid of honour though. I should dig out one of those pics.
