Carb heavy meal
Im so late on this post but im living vicariously through you today (even if you had the study already lol)only just one day though lol. sighs... oh to eat some donuts or ice cream or carby pasta or like last night when my boys bought an apple fritter. I wanted a bite so bad. but i knew better and ate some Sugar free Chocolate Jell-o.
Chocolate chip pancakes with real syrup, ice cream, and finish with a cup cake with lots of frosting.
Hell hath no fury like what would befall me but it would be delicious.

I would alternate being curled up in the fetal position with sitting on the if I ate that! With my surgeon's input I went with 2 days worth of spaghetti with meat sauce and bread (we wanted to stick with the red sauce because I also dump off of fat and the fact in a cream/cheese sauce would have skewed the results.) If I never see another bowl of pasta, I'll be happy. It was complete misery. Heart palpitations, sweating, foggy brain and fatigue. The only thing it didn't do was make me run to the bathroom. Oh, and from the increased carbs for the week I was rewarded with a 3lb gain.
I get my sensor removed tomorrow and have no idea when I get the results of the study. Thanks all for your suggestions . . . and for not expressing the fact that you think I was crazy to do the study in the first place.
That sweaty heart palpitations thing is no fun. Been there and have the tee shirt. I think the pasta was a wise way to go. I am glad you are almost done with this and look forward to hearing the results.

Thanks for your post, but frankly, I don't see your point. In order to determine how to treat me, my surgeon and the endocrinologist specializing in Dumping Syndrome and RH need to know what causes my symptoms. Do I dump from fats or sugars? How low are my lows? I believe they know what they're doing. And actually, I don't mind being a "guinea pig" My endocrinologist is in the middle of a study funded by the NIH and I'm happy to assist her, particularly if it leads to a treatment for my issues. Like I said in my original post, I really wasn't looking for the "ohhhhhhh, RNY'ers shouldn't eat carbs, or "I would never do it" posts. Along with my surgeon's input, I selected a meal that got them the results they needed and did no damage. Again, thanks for your input, but I'm good.

Sorry, you obviously didn't want feedback.
I am a RNY patient and a Type 1 diabetic. I hate to be the one to tell you this but I believe that any RNY across the country will tell you that you can't eat the foods that your doctors are testing on you. So let's do it your way...
"ohhhhhhh, RNY'ers shouldn't eat any of those foods, and "I would never do it" Talk to anyone on here who has been sick and/or gained back 30, 40, 50 pounds. Your "test" foods hurt them.
It doesn't take a Rocket Scientist to know that. They are abusing you in my opinion.
