What's on your menu menu today (Thursday) RNYers?
QOTD: I don't like it. The first few weeks I get anxiety when I leave work and it's dark and I still have so much to do. Also, I get claustrophobic when I'm driving and feel like it shouldn't be dark and I can't see LOL.
Menu - Here's the deal. My menu is always boring. I keep frozen pre-cooked meat items in the freezer at work so I have options. What I have is Beef fajitas, grilled chicken breast, Trader Joes turkey meatballs, cajun pollock fish fillets, and shrimp scampi. This is my daily menu items and dinner varies but is always some kind of meat. I'm trying to be a machine like Grim
Have a great day!!

You have 'freezer surprises', just like me! I like having the variety there so I can decide what sounds the best for me at the moment... They are all measured, very protein-forward, and in MFP so I can add them on the days I do MFP (Because, I suck with MFP... I always have, and I'm afraid I always will... sigh)

I love "ready to go" food! Its so hard to break down and cook every time you are hungry and we all waste food so much already! Your freezer surprises sound yummier than mine but I can't do casseroles or anything with that consistency. I absolutely cannot stand how it feels in my sleeve!

Good morning, Friday eve it is! It's supposed to be in the 80's the next 4 days now not the 70's and I couldn't be happier. The heat and the sun motivate me. I'm joining the gym tomorrow, it's really happening. I'm looking forward to a new routine and trying new things.
QOTD - I would prefer day light savings permanently, none of this switching back and forth. I like the light later. I'm way more productive and enjoy being more active in the evenings. When it's dark after work, I feel like the day is over and it's time for bed already.

Good morning Daizy and Crew!
QOTD: Don't like it in the spring... I hate losing an hour. Love it in the fall when I get an extra hour. Mostly I guess I just think it is a nuisance. Changing clocks is irritating.
B: Premier Protein vanilla with coffee and Miralax
L: Soup/salad at work
D: aaaack. I do not know. Maybe some crack chicken, have a lot of it
S: Dannon Greek peach yogurt, diet cran pineapple with water, turkey jerky 1 oz
No totals, depends on dinner.
Today is my 6-month surgiversary!!! Still couple of weeks before my medical check-in date, but I feel great recently. Not sure if it is the iron patch, the vitamins kicking in, the weight loss, or what, but I am sleeping less, have much more energy in the afternoons. I keep looking for things to do... around the house, and when that is done I want to go out shopping, which has just never been me. If I could just translate that into exercise it would be great ;0
Have a great day everyone!

Hello all WLS friends! I feel a little like Rip Van Winkle, waking up from my long sleep!
I mentioned earlier that I had Achilles tendon surgery just over 3 weeks ago. Although happy at my core for the hope of long term improvement, I have been pretty uncomfortable, immobile, and groggy! I got off the Percocet during the day a week ago, but I was still using it at night. I felt so spacey in the day that I decided to go off it two nights ago. Night is now NOT very comfortable for my foot/incision. But just yesterday and today I am starting to feel like the Percocet is getting out of my system, and that I am starting to feel more connected to the world. There is SO MUCH TO DO that I have not done! I imagined, before this surgery, all the things I would get done--sorting boxes, books, photos, etc., planning travel, writing the great American novel, etc. Have not done any of that. To Dream the Impossible Dream . . .
My eating has not been great. Too much grazing, fewer of "my" choices than usual. I am not able to drive for several more weeks, so some neighbors have brought in meals, and my husband is doing all the grocery shopping. Neighbors like to bring cookies and ice cream! And enchiladas and pasta! Husband likes to buy--well, just imagine.
My weight is at about 160--it is honestly hard for me to be certain, because I am in a boot cast. I can take it off to shower, but the scale in my upstairs bathroom is not calibrated the same as the one on our main floor. Still, to the best of what I can figure out, I'm about 160. My best weight, where I am most comfortable, is 155. 162 is my danger place, so I need to get things back in order. My first stop for that is the daily menu thread and reconnecting with all of you!
So, today, already off on a bad foot. Had 2 squares of chocolate. Must be accountable.
B: Chicken sausage, grape tomatoes.
L: Chicken in curry sauce with greek yogurt and cucumber salad
D: Neighbor is bringing in dinner. I will thaw some shrimp as a backup if it is not protein-forward.
S: If I am up to it today, I will bake some homemade parmesan crisps.
Husband is out of town for work through midnight Saturday. This makes it hard when I cannot drive. So grateful to my neighbors, who are bringing in the meals and helping me drive my kids places. (And my 82-yr-old Dad, who is also driving us places.)
This morning, my boys had to get to school really early (neighbor drove them). A little girl in my neighborhood--elementary age--stopped by to take my dog out to do her "business." Yesterday, trying to help the dog, I fell down on my back. Ugh. Dog is going crazy! My boys will take care of her after school, but these daytime hours are hard.
I have come to appreciate simple things, like being able to carry stuff around. And, washing my hair! Clean hair feels like such a luxury!
xoxo everyone
