Good morning Beautiful Losers! I had an interesting morning, again. Basically it was a close call. The VP of my department is in town this week and we have a special training session today. My mom called this morning, all of the crazy wind we've been having has knocked out her power and her house is super cold, so I didn't have daycare options. My hubby is on a plane to Little Rock, and I was stuck for daycare. Then, the phone rang at 6am to tell me that my son's school was without power as well, so I was saved. Today is the first day that my 17 year old is watching my 3 year old for the whole day. I'm a bit nervous, but I've got my phone on me and the ringer up, and my mother in law lives around the block and will be home this afternoon to take my youngest for a few hours to give the teenager a break. I am paying my oldest, and I'm hoping that the money will motivate him to do more than just sit on the computer while my little one watches TV all day. Either way, as long as he's safe, I'm fine with it.
DZQOTD: I would be okay with stopping the time changes. I do like more sunlight, but I'm up at 5am most days anyway, and getting a toddler to sleep in the summer when it's still full daylight sucks.

So, we are having training at lunch today, and they are providing the lunch. I asked yesterday what we were having, and they said pizza. So, I packed my lunch because I really, really don't want to eat pizza this week. I'm trying so hard to stay good. I hope they're not offended when I pull out my sammich. lol
I'm glad the childcare worked itself out- even if not your ideal. Could be a great brother bonding day.
I never eat the lunch they serve at work when they have something- and I haven't thought twice about offending anyone. In fact I hosted a going a way for one of my staff in Tuesday. Bought & set everything up- made a small we'll miss you speech and then proceeded to heat up my packed lunch. I don't think they care cause it leaves more for them.

We had a big wind storm this weekend. Crazy wind! It uprooted one of our neighbor's trees, and it fell on our house! (It barely missed one of our cars.)
17 years old is plenty old to be responsible for a 3-yr-old. Everyone will be fine! No one will be dead! TV all day is not the worst thing in the world! (I used to think it was, and I still don't like too much, but it's OK. In the long scheme of things.)

My son is having oral surgery. He's done now, grumpy and swollen- but ok. A monitor just sent off- boy are those things unnerving!
A good friend of my hubby just had WLS- i worry about this particular friend doing it cause I doubt he'll be a good example of a WLS patient. He doesn't have good sense about him on a regular day. I worry it will further drive my hubby a Malay from the idea.

another drive-by (for now - I usually come back and read the posts later) - I have to get moving here and get out to the nursing home.
QOTD: the time changes can be a pain, but they seem to happen at just about the right time (although moreso at the original points. By early April (when we used to change), it would start getting light ridiculously early - so the cats would wake me up at ungodly hours, like 4:30 am. I was always SO GLAD when the time changed! But now it's not quite as much of a relief since we do it a month earlier so the sun isn't up as early...)
