What's on your menu menu today (Thursday) RNYers?
on 3/9/17 2:53 pm
What kind/brand of ricotta do you use? I used Trader Joes full fat ricotta and was left with a ton of water pooling in the container when I thawed it out. I'd love to try again!

My biggest NSV ever!......This is the first time since surgery that I've had my crazy time at work followed by my husband being out of town. Normally, it would be an eating anything I wanted holiday for the week. I was scared about this time and my ability to not give in to those past habits. I've struggled with my brain and I have had to ask myself over and over again when I want extra food, "why am I eating this?" "am I hungry?" The answer has always been "No" and I've moved on and done something else. I'm a proud person right now. This is hard but I'm doing it one step at the time. I'll be glad when my husband is back and things are normal next week though.
QOTD: We live in Rhode Island. In the fall it is dark here at 4:00! It's an issue for kids getting off the school bus in the dark. I wish we were in a completely different time zone!

Afternoon, folks. It's been a bad day already. I was half way through typing out my menu and all, and the power in my office went out. I sat in the dark playing on FB for about an hour since I got all of my filing done yesterday. My boss is being an asshat, and I just can't handle it today. My foot is killing me. Don't know what happened to it, but yesterday, in the middle of the day, I got a sharp pain in the top outer portion of my foot. It kept hurting for a while. When I finally looked at it, my left foot and ankle were swollen and tender to the touch. I spent the rest of the day limping on it, had planned on taking a walk after work, but that didn't pan out. I did have to run to Tractor Supply to get some more wire, and I limped the whole way. I am happy to report that the garden fence will be done today.
QOTD: I love the time changes for very specific reasons. I hate them for very specific reasons, as well. First of all, I love the extra light in the evening time. When fall comes around, I am usually so worn out, that the shorter days are a blessing. That's the love part. The hate part is that it messes with people, and my boss will be an even bigger asshat next week than he is this week. Seriously....I need this oil industry to pick up so I can go back to my little happy place.
Scale not moving, not up, not down. I shall prevail, even if I do want to eat about a half of a half sheet cake at this point! I've been pretty carb conservative through all of this, and my menu hasn't changed much, but man....stalls....don't they make you want to self sabotage just a little????
B: Two eggs, over medium
S: LF Cottage Cheese
L: Turkey burger, cheese cubes
S: Turkey/cheese wrap, pickles
D: Turkey burger
Totals: 812 cal, 17 carbs, 83 protein (This includes the half & half in my coffee)
L/V: yep!
E: I'm not sure. Foot is still killing me. I may hobble for a walk for a bit, but nothing major.
Have a grrrreat day, folks!

"Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me." --Carol Burnett
Good afternoon (late post)! It's so late I wasn't going to, but I need to.
The scale moved 1lb. down!! YAY! Weigh in: 180.8! Yipppeee!
So at my yearly appointment with my surgeon in December I weighed in close to 187.0 lbs. I think I'm doing pretty good!
QOTD: Daylight Savings Time to me is representative of coats getting reading to come off, lighter clothing, etc. Before I had my surgery it used to depress me so much and I wore my coat as long as I could. LOL! I don't know if it's going to bother me or not this year, it just seems so much earlier than usual. Anyway, I'm not going to get bummed out about it because I cannot change it...it's going to happen!
Coffee, coffee, coffee
Breakfast: 1/2 cup of cottage cheese, 1 medium banana and cinnamon.
Lunch: some salad greens, few craisins (not even 1/4 cup), shredded carrots (few), about 2 oz of mozzerella cheese and 1 oz of cheddar cheese (these were taken off sandwiches from a luncheon)
Snack: going to need more protein, Oikos Triple Zero - Coconut Creme
Dinner: No clue
Snack: Oikos Triple Zero - Coconut Creme
surgery date:May 25, 2011/surgery weight: 311/lowest weight: 160/current weight: 180.8/goal weight: 160
Have a blessed day everyone! Thank you for the board and postings! It really helps alot!
