Holy Moly, woman! Maybe you should have stayed home today!

I hope your ankle isn't still hurting, and you didn't do any real damage to it. It's amazing what we can do when we have a sleeping toddler in our arms. I'm impressed you kept him upright!

I had a fall like that when Owen was about 3. I was probably around 250 at the time and I really hurt myself. Took a couple of weeks to feel better.

Sorry you had such a stressful time- but good for you for staying strong!

RNY Jan 12, 2017 Lost 137 lbs but regained 60.

Morning guys!

I was going to post earlier but it wasn't up yet and I had to rush out the door to my morning orthodontist appointment. This was my first tightening since I got my braces on and it felt very weird...it doesn't hurt but I suspect it will later. I didn't end up doing any yard work yesterday...instead my MIL and I went to a local park where I discovered they had a lake and we hiked the trail around it. It was hillier than we expected and one big hill almost did us in, but they had a bench halfway up so we sat and rested. It ended up being a 2.4 mile hike and the weather was amazing for it....I will definitely go back. I found a new drink that I really like yesterday - I forgot my protein shake at home when I took my son to OT so I ran to the local Vitamin Shoppe to get something out of the cooler and the manager there let me try a couple samples of Isotech42 - 190cal, 1g sugar, 4gcarb, and 42G OF WHEY ISOLATE PROTEIN! The fruit punch was awesome so I got some because I'm trying to have a variety of things to drink post surgery...and I love that it's not a shake, it's just a liquid drink.

QOTD: I'm looking forward to getting outside more, moving around more easily. Even now that I've lost 30lbs I'm moving much more easily and I have more energy....I can't wait until I've lost even more and don't feel like I'm going to die after walking a couple blocks and up a couple hills!

Menu:

B: Decaf Coffee w/SF Creamer, Protein Shake

S: Isotech42 - Frosted Fruit Punch Flavor

L: Leftover Chicken Fajita - w/Onions,Peppers,Tomato

S: TBD

D: Chipotle Chicken (chicken, taco seasoning, ro-tel) w/plain greek yogurt

We are going to see Logan tonight - luckily braces = no popcorn so that makes it easier!

7 days until surgery day!

Have a great day guys :)

Good morning. Good to see an active OH again.

Tough day today at work yesterday as 100 people were laid off, MANY of them who I am currently or have previously worked with on projects. I am just sick about it and questioning what the future is for the business unit I support (and whether I want to finish out the year working for the company)

DS (chef) brought home croissants and a chocolate dessert from his restaurant last night. I can resist the chocolate, but the croissants have me wanting to do the equivalent of covering my ears (mouth, head-hunger sensors, ???)

QOTD: I picked bicycling back up again mostly because DH was an enthusiast, but he hasn't really been doing it because of his Alzheimer's (didn't expect that to happen so soon). I am also back to the gym and doing Zumba.

B: eggbeaters and cottage cheese, English muffin and peanut butter

L: tuna salad, pickles and cottage cheese

D: IP Chicken with peppers and pesto/marinara

S: nut thins and hummus; protein chips

The layoffs are the worst. I sat through 4 of them here, and it was so stressful. Unfortunately, I don't know of any industry these days that's safe from this phenomenon... Hang in there! One more year, if you can make it, is worth it.

I'm really hoping my son doesn't go into chef school like he's been talking about... having all that brought home would be hard!!!! Stand strong!

Thanks! A croissant did make its way into me yesterday, but he ate the other things. Luckily DS is NOT a pastry chef, but just brought home a few things (I asked that he not do it again now that I have sampled). When he cooks for us it is mainly protein so I can eat healthy (and tastily) on what he cooks himself.

Goodmorning DZ and Menu fam!!!

I'm so sorry I've been away, and I don't respond as much when i do get here. Its getting harder to come here everyday because this new job demands so much of my time and attention, much less come back and respond to everyone's post.

I finally joined the gym and last night I took a Body Pump class, which is a 60 minute weight training course made of 10 songs, where each song concentrates on a muscle group. I was able to do tricep dips off the bench (something I haven't been able to do in about 10 years)!

I also went to my 6 months post op appointment, which went GREAT. I'll write about that separately in a post. But i did want to say:

THANK YOU all to my Menu FAMILY for all of your support, advice, guidance and tough love! My surgeon and his team were thoroughly impressed by my progress, with weightloss at 78 Lbs since surgery (98 all together). They say I have the results of most of their 10 month patients! They really had no advice/homework to give me because "clearly, you know what you're doing." I feel I owe a lot of this to all of you who put up with my depressed/anxious whiny butt months earlier and continue to encourage me!

I don't know about you, but I am feeling fabulous!

6 months post op at 166 lbs!

B: Tuna Melt: Ranch Tuna Packet, 1 tbsp mayo, 1 slice cheese

S: Premiere Protien Choc, 1 tbsp Almond Butter

L: Chicken & Beef Chili

S: 1/2 Bottle Isopure Raspberry, 10 Pecans

D: 1/2 Chipotle Barbacoa Salad

S: No Sugar Fudgcicle

Vits & water: Started

Exercise for today: 2 min running in place & 7 min yoga stretch when i got up this morning, 30 min walk at lunch
