I had my RNY on 9 September 2016 and all is fine. Yep - I thought I was a pro at this eating thing!!!! OMG tonight I ate my usual 2.5oz salmon but just too quickly - now I feel like I'm dying. So all to say - remember to take our time. Pain can still happen 6 months later!

Three years out -- and STILL do this every once in a while. It's pretty rare now -- but it does happen! UGH

It sucks.

I have no idea why, but this seems to happen often with salmon.

Wild caught salmon is easier for me to eat than farm raised for some reason.

Tonight was the first time in a while that I was able to eat farm raised without issue.

jello was the last food that left me in agony.

It can still happen at anytime. 16 years out and if I am not paying attention it will hit me. Mindful eating is a good habit to practice, daily. I also now get the hiccups after the pain, just another reminder I am eating too quickly. But, it is a reminder and one I try to avoid at all costs.

I don't eat cooked salmon but I do eat cold smoked salmon and I have to be very careful with that as well.

Three years late also. One of the things we always need to remember.

Thanks for the warning. When does the pain hit; immediately after eating, or a few hours later?
