Good morning, back from vacation. I go away for two weeks and all hell breaks loose. Nice. My food bag on the driving trip served me well. I had way to much stuff, but had what I needed when I needed it. Lost 3.5 pounds each of the two weeks I was out, so I was pleased that eating out for every meal didn't cause any problems. I thought my wife was going to punch me if I suggested Wendy's one more time. I pretty much survived on Wendy's and Panera during the four days we were actually driving to and from Florida. I didn't have the Wendy's chili post surgery until this trip and found it to be the perfect size. I added Quest chips to add crunch and pick up the protein. I was able to eat about 2/3rds of it. I brought some lunch meat and cheese in a cooler, so added that to a half Panera greek salad each night (I have a mini travel scale I got on Amazon for $15 bucks - it's pretty cool). I used the yellow mustard for dressing. Thankfully I love mustard. I would eat a Quest bar in the car vs. a protein drink each day. Worked pretty well overall. I was also very pleased to find that the breakfast served at both hotels were very bariatric friendly. Both places had fresh eggs that didn't appear to have too much oil or butter, sausage and yogurt. I did have a 1/4 waffle with sf syrup each morning (I was happy I tolerated that). However, I found out that I don't tolerate soft french toast (took a 1/2 slice of my wife's order one morning - didn't sit well at all). Lots of appetizers vs entrees at restaurants worked really well too. My favorite meal was at an Italian restaurant - got a small antipasto salad and side of meatballs.

QOTD - I drink between 14 and 17 cups of water each day. I only count half of the decaf coffee I drink (16 to 24 ounces per day). Lots of CL (mostly Pomegranate) and Powerade Zero.

B - 5oz greek yogurt adding in 2 tbs of granola

L - Thai beef salad with cucumbers

D - Spicy chicken with basil and stir-fry eggplant

S - Syntrax Lemon Tea with some Lipton sf mix added in for punch/maybe some leftover spicy chicken if protein count isn't around 90 for the day

Good Morning Yesterday went by so quick since I had mountains of emails to read through and get caught up on after being out on vacation last week. It had been so long since I had actually "unplugged" and not at least checked emails and such while away.... and I have to admit it was wonderful.

QOTD: I aim to at least get in 128 ounces in a day. I don't have my morning coffee until I have had at least 56 ounces so that is an incentive for me. I stick with just plain water and can do room temp or a refillable bottle from the fridge.

Time since surgery: 2 years, 6 months

B: SF latte, eggbeaters with roasted red pepper, ½ an orange and 2 turkey sausage links

L: Boiled egg, buddig beef pack, lettuce leaves (to make wraps) and baby carrots

S: SF latte, Yoplait Greek 100 mixed berry yogurt, jerky pack

D: IP shredded beef lettuce wrap tacos topped with shredded cheddar and 2% fage/Jello mixture

S: decaf latte

E: 7 miles this morning and 40 mins of elliptical at lunch

V/W: On track

QOTD: A lot like JB. In the morning coffee coffee coffee with various additives... lately Fairlife ff. And Miralax. Then water but ONLY if it has ice and diet cran something in it. Evening either that or mint tea. Imwould drink coffee all day if it did not keep me up at night.

B: Fairlife with coffee and Miralax, Pure Protein Banana Cream

L: crack chicken salsa

D: Costco chicken parmesan, 5 oz

S: Dannon greek cherry, diet cran pineapple, turkey jerky 1 oz

Good morning,

QOTD I have a routine unless im out of the house. My water bottle holds 28 oz, my coffee mug holds 16 oz and my tea mug holds 14 oz. When I get up i drink 3 water bottles and 2 coffee mugs of decaf coffee. Before lunch i have 1 bottle of water, 1 bottle of crystal light and 4 mugs of decaf tea. Before supper i have 1 bottle of water and 2 mugs of decaf coffee. Before snack i have 2 bottles of water and 2 of decaf coffee if im feeling it.

B spinach, red pepper, ham and cheese omelet and string cheese

L leftovers from logans steak, grilled mushrooms skewer and sweet potato

D cheeseburger and asparagus

S Greek yogurt, turkey sausage snack sticks and honeycrisp apple

QOTD: I'm not the greatest at liquids. I drink 2 cups of Fairlife skim (16 oz) along with 16 oz coffee and then I drink 2 26oz cups of water with crystal light flavor or Kool-aid flavor and then sometimes another 16 to 20 oz bottle of water at home. I average (not counting coffee) about 68 to 90 oz a day. I know that's not great but I struggle with not being able to drink water for 2 hours after I eat so I usually can't eat breakfast or snacks or I can't get my liqids in. Weekends are another story. I'm terrible on the weekends! I don't drink or eat most of the time!

B- coffee with creamer & miralax, and fairlife skim milk

D - chicken shish kabob

Morning Menu Folks!

QOTD: I have a double walled sports bottle that I fill every morning with mio/miralax and water. It's 24ounces, and I try to drink all of it before I get to work, if not it gets finished at lunch. Then I have 2 cups of coffee at work (10oz each), and I have a 32oz Artic on my desk that I TRY to fill 3 times a day, but sometimes I don't get it all in... when I get home, I fill a 20oz glass with flavored water, have all of that before dinner/while I'm cooking (presurgery, that was often either mixed with vodka or it was replaced with a glass of wine (or 2))... There's also a mug or two of a latte at night mixed with Fairlife (2oz) I get somewhere between 128-160 ounces every work day... I'm with Julia on the weekend though... I neither keep a good record of what I drink, nor do I most likely get enough in (I'd really need to track it to know)

Struggling with eating the past few days... and I think it's because the scale is being a turd... I could whine for days over this, but hormone-related or not, I need to stop taking bites of things I don't need long enough to be positive it is indeed from the hormone pellet or not! Dammit! Sneaking up on my 10mo weigh in, and it's freaking me out (so, sure, have another piece of something to make you feel better... dammit!)... sigh...

Weight this morning 151.4 (f$*k)

B: 2 cups of coffee with SF syrup and that nasty powdered creamer (making a note to go pick up some milk for work)

B2: 2.7 ounces of pot roast

L: I have more pot roast, or I have 3 freezer treats, jambalaya, baked ricotta, chili... I have choices, and I cannot choose this early! LOL

D: leftover pot roast with roasted cauliflower

S: SF Latte with Fairlife (2oz)

Please give me the strength to NOT shove something in my mouth after work today!!! (the boys - our visitors - brought in a huge bag of cheddar chex mix... lord help me, it's gone, AND the boys leave today... my hands found their way into that bag twice while it was there... and the german chocolate cake should be gone too, I didn't look this morning, but it'll be in the trash when I get home if it's still there)

I can whine with the best of them over the scale. I was at Doc's yesterday and he wanted to change me to another form of hormone- and I was like No! because I was on it before and it made me gain weight....nope, nope, nope. When I got off it I lost 7lbs in a week, so it wasn't in my head....

I always think it is good to change things up a little when the scale isn't cooperating- different choices--have some extra fat...something. It may just be a mental thing...but I always found it helped.

I am guessing this is related to the hormone injection, but I can't be totally sure unless I buckle down and be true to myself...

I think you're right... I need to mix it up a bit... I'm pulling out some steaks (cow-cow steaks), a bag of shrimp, and gonna make some new things to eat that are almost zero carb and yummmy! (and I'll see if I can keep the sodium lower for a few days too, but I do get crampy if I don't eat enough salt)
