Good Morning!

Husband had the weekend off, but went back to work this morning so I will have to find something to occupy myself today. Maybe I will clean house lol

So I went to bed mad at a lot of you that posted on my facebook (j/k I wanted your truthful advice even if it isn't what I wanted to hear!)...So I guess my menu will be the same as usual...liquids liquids liquids, but I am going to try extra hard to force down protein in liquid form of course.

1 week out from surgery today....down about 14.5 pounds since weight morning of surgery!

I know how hard it is to stick with it when you feel like you can transition. I have to tell you what happened to me when I did the same thing. My surgeon transitions RNY patients pretty fast, so I had surgery on Tuesday and by the next Wednesday I transitioned to soft foods. Well, I thought that ground turkey with gravy (in the form of a turkey meatball mashed up really small) was soft enough. I ended up in the ER thinking I had ripped my pouch open. It was horrible, I can't even describe the pain. Turns out I just irritated the pouch really badly, so I had to go back to full liquids for a few days until things settled down.

I'm not saying that you'd be stupid enough to eat lean ground turkey (like I did) but I do know that I pushed what I was supposed to do, and I suffered for it.

Just try to stick to the plan given by your surgeon as long as you can. Hang in there and it will happen soon.

I had my RNY on December 14th of 2014, and I was on a two week liquid diet before and after surgery. So I refer to that December as "the month I didn't chew". Yes, it sucked, but it got my liver shrunk for surgery, I sailed through the procedure, and my weight loss was magnificent that first month...most importantly, it got my head in the game. I know it sucks to be on liquids, but think about how your stomach was sewn into a pouch, and you need to be gentle and healing to that little pouch. Try various shakes - Isopure is clear which is a nice break, Chike Iced Coffee (on Amazon) was my go-to for at least a year, and the Unjury chicken broth protein powder gave me a great savory break from sweet drinks. This too shall pass, and you will be on your way to a healthier life filled with so much energy, you won't believe how you used to feel. You've got this!

You got this! I know how hard it is to still feel crappy from surgery and then to feel unsatisfied on top of it, is just annoying. But drink drink drink, then drink some more. Focus on staying hydrated and try to up your protein numbers. You'll be feeling better (and more satisfied) in no time!

Good morning everyone! Its rainy here in the PNW, but I am thankful its not snow or ice. I am headed out to grocery shop today. I have chicken crack on my list for food for the week. I am hoping to find some greek cream cheese to up the protein. I will probably add jalepenos to it too.

I am looking for a brand of jerky that is low sugar. A lot of them have like 6 sugars per ounce. Any suggestions? Also, what are your thoughts on turkey jerky?? i have never tried it.

B- 2 chicken sausage and 1 poached egg

L- chick filla grilled chicken ( I will be in town)

D- left over beef roast with ketchup

S- possibly a shake to bump up protein

QOTD- I am a total bargain hunter! I love good quality furniture that i can repurpose or paint. I also enjoy a good garage sale for clothes. I do buy good bras.

Have a great day everyone!!

Do you have cantanneo bros beef jerky there? No sugar on the regular, pepper, hot or mesquite. It's really good.

I am one year out and tried jerky a few weeks ago and it didn't sit well with me. Just be careful and chew it really good.

Find your local jerky companies... they are much more likely to have the low sugar one.

I eat Ralphs Beef Jerky, but they are local only to parts of OK... you can order it, but it's more expensive... but OH SO YUMMY!!!

I love garage sales too... I don't go to them like I used to when I was a stay at home mom, though... Friday's are always the best! (I will probably take a Friday off when the season picks up here! LOL)
