What's on your menu today (Photo Friday!) RNYers?
Good morning my amazing menu crew! Thanks for sticking with me this week. As a newbie I really look forward to the accountability and camaraderie that comes with this thread.
It was 18 when I left the house today. Brr. And it's snowing. As it's still the first week of March, I'm going to take that as March coming in like a lion and hope for an early spring. Lol.
Photo Friday! My exciting breakfast is a protein shake. I wasn't very organized this morning. I had leftovers ready for lunch but hadn't thought too much about breakfast. Getting all my protein in does seem to go better when I start with a shake so I will take it. I threw in an extra one too. If I don't drink it today- and I doubt it- I will keep it at work for backup.
Menu: B: Protein Shake with decaf coffee
L: Leftover Swiss Chalet (rotisserie chicken chain here in Canada) chicken and veg
D: As always, that's up in the air.
Snack: Perfect Bariatric Egg Custard cup from Bariatric Eating. These are DELICIOUS! ? I will definitely be making more. I also have that extra protein shake if I need it.
Have a great day!

Same! I'm actually a heavy emoji user, but they aren't supported on here, it's like I've lost a chunk of my vocabulary hahaha

Oh my goodness. I forgot the QOTD!
Whays something you're looking forward to? For me, it out trip to South Carolina in April. My best friend lives there with her family. We've only become close in the last couple of years and our kids and husbands don't really know each other that well but I'm so excited for us to get them all together. We are both certain they're all going to get along great. Plus April in SC will be warmer than Ontario so I'm also looking forward to an early taste of summer.

My mom and her BF are leaving for Myrtle Beach SC in a week. We've spent a lot of time there as a family and the warm sun on the beach would feel fabulous right about now!

I am SO glad it is Friday. I am grappling with when to retire so I don't have a lot of patience at work. BUT my department just had another reorganization which changes our focus to something I am much more interested in than my most recent responsibilities so that's a big plus. Maybe I'll enjoy my last working months more!
QOTD: I'm looking forward to returning to Florida for 2 weeks on March 18, to Aruba in June, to summer on Cape Cod, and to retirement by the end of the year. I'm now actually looking forward to a couple of business events coming up as well: a business trip on 10 days and attendance at the Simmons Women's Conference in April.
My dogs were driving me crazy with barking a little while ago because one of the neighborhood turkeys was in the front yard (about 18 of them roost in the trees behind our house at night). I snapped this picture because his tail was unfurled, which we don't see often with this gang:
B: eggbeaters and cottage cheese, English muffin and peanut butter
L: tuna salad, pickles and cottage cheese
D: out to dinner with SIL after 7.5 week PS post-op check this afternoon.
S: nut thins and hummus; protein bar

Morning!
do you prefer those to the premiere protein shakes Daizy?
My pic is a typical breakfast for me. Premiere protein with powdered peanut butter. (May as well use those pint glasses for something!)
Were going to check out the Red Bull crashed ice races tonight! Should be fun, but freeezing! Lots of layers!!
the rest of the weekend is up in the air. My husband is an it consultant, and he just landed a great contract, but means he has a lot of other clients to wrap up, so he'll be working most of the weekend. Most of march actually...
i might head to the farm to give him some alone time!
last night I made cauliflower tortillas. They are crazy easy, and so good! I'll post it in the recipe forum.
menu:
B: protein shake with powdered peanut butter
L: leftover pork stir fry
D: tbd, I'm not sure if we'll eat before leaving, or downtown.
S: skyr with branbuds. Cheese and nuts ? I'm still working on adding more meals in my day...
have a great weekend everyone!
