I was worried my goal weight was unrealistic (especially according to my doctor) but I see it can be done, thank you for that!

No, it can be done. You got this!!!! My doctor didn't even set a goal weight (dummy) so I took it upon myself. I want to lose down as much as I can and then if I bounce around any I will still be ok. Im here if you have any question or anything. Message me or FB me.

I'm with you, I want to get down as much as I possibly can and level where I feel most comfortable. Thank you! Are you on gabfest? I don't know your name. I'm Amy O....

Was 140 your goal at the time of surgery or has it changed as you've gone along? I don't have a specific goal and only put 175 on my ticker because that would put me at a normal BMI, something I've never been so any lower than that felt unrealistic I guess.

How tall are you? I don't reach a normal BMI until 140 :(

Well you just proved how very little effort I put into this whole goal weight/bmi thing! Lol. I'm 5'5" so 175 puts me in the overweight category not normal. The same still applies thought, I've not seen anything in the 100's in my entire adult life, nothing under 220 to be more specific, so I was at a loss as to how to determine where I wanted to end up.

As an adult, my lowest weight was 190, once in my 20's and once in my 30's. I felt pretty good too. I have NO clue what 140 will look or feel like on me, I can't even imagine but I know its possible! I am aiming for the normal bmi range, but we'll see what happens. My Dr. said I would lose approximately 130 (it's an average) and that would put me at 179. Considering I have been about 300 for a many years, I'm sure I would perfectly happy if that is where I landed.

My doctor would never specify a goal but at one of my first appointments I said I'd be happy at 220 and while I no longer feel that way I know that any goals I set now are open to future adjustment. So far I've added a few mini goals along the way but haven't thought much about what happens when I enter uncharted territory. Until I started reading here on OH and seeing the success that was possible I would never have imagined a normal BMI was even within the realm of possibilities. There was a time when even 175 seemed like a dream and now it feels attainable. Wild ride for sure!
