I totally catch myself doing that all the time, enough that my sister and I joke about it in our texts to each other because she does the same thing.

You say on the one hand "no nausea" but that you feel like you are going to be sick when you sit up (which is nausea). This is probably directly connected with your difficulties in getting liquids in. Just try some of the suggestions on getting the liquid in from yesterday - Getting it down is really your most important job in these early days.

No I meant no nausea IF I am laying down, but I am well aware that I can't lay in bed all day. But I am trying the different suggestions from yesterday. I so far have gotten 6oz of poweraide zero and 6oz of protein shake. I have tried water at different temps with different things added but none of those seem to work yet. But poweraide is going ok and ice chips work. I also went walking again today, and that seems to help the most. I think it is because when I do swallow air with the drink they almost instantly come back up and don't cause the discomfort they would if I were being still.
I am going to continue to take the nausea medicine even though I am not sure if that is what is helping or just being another day out is making the difference.

It sounds like you are doing all the right things. I'm sure you will feel much better soon once you get adjusted to your new tummy!

When you sit up or stand remember to do it slowly. That helped me. And just keep trying to push the fluids. Have a bottle of something with you at all times and suck on ice chips or little ice cubes made from Crystal light or something. Even if you have to set your watch or clock reminders. Sounds silly but it helps. It will all start coming together. You are doing great.

Yes surgery was Monday, but I feel better while walking. Plus I was used to walking 3 miles or more a day before surgery (and usually one mile was jogging). Now it is a very slow walk...all the senior citizens are passing me on the track lol.
