Liver-shrinkage diet
Congrats on your surgery date!
My liquid diet was 2 weeks(I thought it was 1 but I checked my paperwork and realized it was 2). My diet was protein shakes, sf ice-pops, sf jello and broth. It is very tough when you start out but it will get easier.
You will do great!

I started my two week pre-op diet on Monday. I can have 2 or 3 shakes a day plus I can eat 1 meal a day of 4 OZ of fish or chicken and a serving of vegetables. I can also have broth, sugar free Jell-o and popsicles.
So far I have only had 2 shakes per day along with my one meal, 2 cups of broth and 2 sugar free Jell-o cups. It has been alot easier than I thought it was going to be so far, but I have been jumping thru insurance hoops since the end of September, and I think I'm just happy I am finally going to get my surgery.
I am scheduled for surgery on March 13th, and I can't wait!!!
Good luck with your pre-op diet and with your surgery.

You're having yours the day before mine -- that is SO awesome! Congrats on getting your surgery date. It will be the best decision you've ever made! I'm so excited for you - you're going to do great.
I wish I had the option for the one meal a day -- I've stuck to my diet for the most part, but I've had small pieces of protein (i.e. chicken or steak) and small pieces of vegetables just to tide me over during times when I'm at dinners or luncheons with a group of people. I think the worst thing is being incredibly hungry and watching other people eat the foods you love right in front of you. That's why I "cheated" a little and had little nibbles of stuff to keep my mind at ease.
Good luck with your pre-op diet and with your surgery, too! Stay in touch and let me know how it goes! :)

Mine was 2 weeks of liquids only. Protein shakes and broth mostly. It was super hard but I think helped by getting me use to liquids only for after surgery! You can do it!! Just keep your eye on the 'prize'.
Oh it's definitely been tough! But I think once I got past the 3-5 day mark, it wasn't nearly as bad. The third day was the worst! I've also had very small pieces of meat and pieces of vegetables to tide me over when I've been at dinner and luncheons around other people -- drinking jus****er while they ate all the foods I love in front of me just wasn't an option. But now I'm back to my pure liquid diet with only 8 days to go, so I know I can do it. Thank you so much for sharing this with me!! :)
