They have not deactivated. If you hover over the name, it shows they still have a profile. More than likely, they are trying to make a statement.

I noticed this too! I'm not much of a weekend poster/reader....our weekends tend to be so busy. I came back today and there's a bunch of my favorite people showing as deactivated
