What's on your menu today ( Monday) RNYers?
Good morning everyone!
Not sure if anyone else said they would do this or not. Daisy is going to be away for a bit.
Well it's my 1st day back to work and I can't believe how quickly 6 weeks flew by! It's pretty nice weather here today. I think about 40 degrees? I packed my lunch and snacks last night so I think I'm somewhat prepared to face the day.
QOTD: What is your dream job? Are you doing it or did you? I'm a commercial auto underwriter at a large insurance company. I used to think I wanted to be a teacher but here I am. I do like my job and the company I work for. My motto is "I work to live, not live to work". So I do my best at work, give it my all but I always use all my vacation time, and even buy an extra week every year.
Breakfast Crustless quiche
L: Ground pork in tomato sauce
S: Greek yogurt and a Vanilla Premier Protein.
Dinner is up in the air. I'm going to definitely do some menu planning tonight
Have a great day everyone!

RNY Jan 12, 2017 Lost 137 lbs but regained 60.
77 lbs lost and counting!
Losing the regain! I got this!
Good luck today on your first day back!
exciting day for me! Officially 125 pounds down! Wild!
the qotd is quite fitting.a while back, I applied for a job I don't really want. I don't even know why I applied, other than my job hunt has not been going well, and it was a moment of madness. Well, today I have 30 minute phone interview with their "talent acquisition team" sigh. It's a management position. I'm not sure how I feel about it. Part of me is glad they are interested. The rest of me feels.... ugh.
But as far as dream jobs go, it would be something like magazine editor. A mix of creative, project oriented, balancing deadlines etc. I love the challenge of having a goal to meet within certain parameters or restrictions, if that makes sense. I have worked in event planning for years, and love the rush of it all coming together.
so, I'm trying to pursue those things more as a hobby than a career at this point. I am getting more involved in fundraising initiatives, and I've been working on a blog/website( yeah just what the world needs, another blog haha)
menu:
B: protein shake with powdered peanut butter
L: leftover tomato chicken soup (with cauli rice in it! So good! )
D: tbd I'm thinking fish maybe.

Good Morning!
Thanks for starting the post!
The weekend flew by as usual, we didn't do anything exciting. I needed a low key weekend after such a crazy week last week - it was one of those weeks where I had to schedule time to even talk to people, even if it was for just 15 minutes it went on the calendar. Luckily not every week is like that!
QOTD: I am pretty close to my "realistic" dream job; I started in early January as a Project Manager at a Children's Hospital. The culture here is amazing, and I find the work that I do very rewarding. Some days are tough, as there is an emotional component that is taking some getting used to - having small kids myself makes it tough to see so many really sick kids everyday. Now, my "unrealistic" dream job would be to be a Cruise Director :) a girl can dream, right?!
B: Buffalo Chicken Salad & Celery

L: Turkey Taco Salad
S: Turkey Pepperoni & Mozzarella

Hope everyone has a great day!

I'm worth it!
Morning guys!
I'm flying solo this week while the hubby is away at a work conference, it definitely makes me appreciate all the things he does for our little family :) The kiddo and I are off to drop off my car to have some work done this morning, MIL is being a darling and picking us up to cart us around for the day. I don't have much planned other than work, exercise, and laundry.
QOTD: I actually really love what I do....I'm an artist, but I didn't actually connect with it until after my son was born. When I was younger I really wanted to be an artist, it was my favorite subject and I gravitated towards sculpting with various mediums. After my son was born and we opted to have me stay home with him I started fiddling around with clay again as a creative outlet so I didn't go crazy scraping blended peas off the ceiling, and here I am 4 years later still enjoying it. I don't know if i'll still continue to do it after he goes to school full-time, I'd like to go back to work where the income is more consistent. We'll see

QOTD: At this stage in my life, dream job is retirement, but it seems a long way off. Like you said, I work to live, not live to work. My job is fine, supervisor is great and always very accommodating, but I would really like to have more time to be with family, travel, volunteer, etc., etc. Unfortunately, I don't have the finances to carry out the dream.

Good Morning all. Busy day yesterday but a nice one. QOTD: I do have very close to my dream job right now. Although there are things about it (mostly co-worker issue's) that I would like to change. All in all, can't complain. Next great job I'm looking forward to is RETIREMENT!!! Busy morning so have to go for now. Best of luck and enjoy the day everyone!
Morning!
I love what I do. :) I stay home with a gaggle of kids and homeschool. I was a pediatric nurse before that and I loved that too. But my oldest is profoundly dyslexic and she was failing school...very long story short, we started homeschooling and never looked back. She is a sophomore in college now, a hard won battle for us both. :) When my youngers are a little bit older, I am thinking of combining my experiences and fostering medically fragile children.
Ok, so, food...
breakfast- Making a veggie/sausage skillet with some eggs
lunch- ham and provolone wraps in the skillet
Snack- tea, half a protein bar
Dinner- making tostadas, no shell for me. Also cooking Delaware with my daughter, making peach cobbler with her...I will have a *bite*. Making a small one so there won't be any leftovers to tempt me later...they will inhale it.

My best friend who I'm going to visit in SC in April home schools her kids too. They have 5 the oldest is done now and the 2nd one is graduating. I would have loved to have been a stay at home mom. Home schooling is almost non-existent here so I don't know that I would have gone that route.

Good for you for taking a vacation- way too many workers in the US never do . In Europe vacationing is considered sacred lol - the entire country of Italy actually takes every August off together and inundate the Mediterranean!
A very tough day yesterday - forty something unwanted calls from the ex finally had to file for harassment because he's calling and embarrassing while I'm at work and calling my boss and even my parents when he can't get through to me. He showed up at my work ( an hour and a half away one way ) twice last week!
I have tax appeal papers to file by March 1 in two states and accounting to attach to them and I'm being driven out of my mind by the unwanted drama grrr.
Breakfast - chicken breast and fat free cheese roll ups with leftover " naked enchilada " refried beans
one knish with mustard
chai tea lattes
definitely hiking an hour with my therapist today looking at wetsuits and another waterproof swimming I pod on e bay
