Good morning everyone!

Still struggling to relocate that motivation I had. It's not effecting my eating but this week I've had to push myself just to complete my steps. I'm still not weighing myself everyday but since I record on Mondays I'm always sure to hop on there on Sunday so I have an idea of what to expect and it's still moving so that's nice to see.

This morning I decided to try a "Sunday breakfast". I don't usually eat in the morning and about 1/4 of the way through breakfast I'm remembering why. I made myself a protein pancake (one scoop vanilla protein powder, one egg) and wow is it a lot. I would try it again but I would make half as much as I did this time, there's no way I can eat it. I don't know if it's just too soon to put food down there because I haven't even sent any coffee down yet or if the texture is just too much because I haven't had anything like this in so long but whatever the reason I will aim to eat half and make less next time.

I tried going without protein shakes during AMAW and it was a little too soon for me but now I'm thinking I'm going to try planning some days without them and see how that goes.

B- protein pancake w/sf syrup (1/2)...coffee to follow

L- leftover chicken and black beans

D- leftover chicken and guacamole

S- skyr plain w/ pb2

Totals 598 cal, 99g protein, 12g carbs

Have a great day!

I still have trouble most morning jumping into food, I did protein shakes every morning the first 2 years.... Now I have switched to the fairlife latte so I have a vehicle for my Miralax and at least start the day with some protein - 13g.

I will tell you I have tried protein pancake recipes, and even if they taste good going down...They usually don't sit well... probably a combo of my body at that point doesn't know it is not a carb- so sits like bread and I probably take one too many bites.

The Fairlife milk seems so popular but unfortunately I can't get it here in Canada. In the past I've used Premier in my coffee but haven't done that post op, maybe I'll add that back into the rotation. Currently I'm not getting anything beyond coffee in my system before 12:30 ish.

I was really surprised by the texture. I was expecting thin and crepe-y but it was really dense and heavy. It sat ok (I ate less than half) but I'm thinking next time half the protein would make it lighter and easier to eat.

I love eggs, but they are crazy filling compared to other proteins. I definitely cant eat more than one, and often cant fini**** I still rely on premiere protein for most breakfasts.

It's funny about eggs...if I eat scrambled eggs it takes more to fill me up, if I eat over easy I am filled up after 2 eggs, hard boiled eggs are a different story, I can eat one be filled up. In addition I need to chew it forever and I need be careful or it won't go down. I haven't eaten poached for quite a while but I would think that 1 to 2 eggs would fill me up.

I haven't tried eggs too often post op but I found half my breakfast harder to eat than 3 oz of any other protein I've tried so far. Now that I'm thinking about it the only other eggs I've tried have been hard boiled and I had no issues.

Good job JB jumping on the stair climber! This change in weather is kicking my butt...allergies I guess?? I sound like I have a frog in my throat...

QOTD: I subscribe to several magazines, but I pay for none of them.... they have always been free offers, either with a store purchase or something I've seen on the internet. Currently receiving Bon Appetitt, Prevention, Family Circle, Shape, and I've gotten Martha Stewart Living on and off. Prevention years ago used to be a great magazine, cutting edge nutrition before it became mainstream....but now it is basically a woman's weight loss magazine.

With the Instant Pot, I do find it intensifies flavors, so if it is a recipe you've made before non-Instant Pot I would cut back on salt, and spices...you can always supplement at the end if needed.

Maryann had told me about buying this uncured bacon pieces and ends at Trader Joe's... to keep for throwing in eggs etc. 1lb, and works out cheaper for uncured and easier to cook... just dumped in my cast iron skillet and 15 minutes later good. Even though I ran the kitchen fan, my house smelled like bacon...and every time I got up to use the bathroom last night and this AM-on the 2nd floor- all I could smell was bacon. It took everything in me to not go downstairs and eat.

B: coffee latte w/fairlife milk and miralax  spaghetti squash faux 'potato pancake' omelet with bacon pieces and cheese

S:protein drink TBD

L: TJ Roast Turkey, cole slaw

D: Taco meat bowl on spaghetti squash

S: chocolate chai latte, yogurt, fitjoy bar(maybe while out)

EX: 21 day fix- done!

Does anyone know why when we edit our post it gives us an incorrect edit time.  Well almost everyone,  I looked back and I see that JuniperBerry's edit time is possibly correct.   Everyone else that edited in this thread the edit time supposedly took place before the post was made.

I posted at 7:56 AM , but it says I edited at 12:01 AM

Just curious.

Good Morning!  Yesterday was almost an entire day of television and computer time for the entire family.  My Husband working on information for our accountant for taxes and apparently has not been keeping up with our receipts and logging things.  We have a farm and I have a business and he has a FT job, plus we always end up with enough medical to be able to deduct, so it is important that we have all that done.  Every single year I discover he is months behind and he has to spend an entire weekend going back through receipts and logging them into the computer.  Every single year I offer to take over the job for him since he clearly cannot keep up with it, and every single year he declines and insists that the next year he will not get so far behind.  haha!

It is snowing again where I live in Oregon (near Portland but higher elevation) so I am not excited about going outside.  It's that weird "grapple" stuff again.  Nothing fun to play in.  It will doubtless turn to icy rain later today as it warms up.  I am thinking of getting the kids together and playing a board game.  Maybe light a fire in the wood stove and have an indoor NON electronic day.  They will moan about it because they are teen and tweens, but once we start playing I know they will like it.

QOTD:  I subscribe to Reader's Digest, Taste of Home Magazine, National Geographic, and Nat Geo for Kids.  My 10 year old twins are probably getting a little old for that last one.  Looking for good ideas for older kids and teen girls for magazines that are not focused on beauty tips and whatnot.  I also subscribe to the Oregonian Newspaper.  They have very good reporting.  I have thought about subscribing to certain magazines and newspapers that are known for good reporting but are currently being maligned.  I have thought about giving a gift subscription to my very right leaning Uncle, but I worry he wouldn't take it in the spirit of teasing and love that it would be meant.  We are careful not to talk politics at family gatherings.

B - Mocha Madness protein shake with fairlife milk

S - I feel like a latte today, so will probably make one myself

L- Tuna creations toasted on thick tomato slices with melted cheddar and avocado

S - ?

D - Argentine Empanada Pocket
