Spare me the hair growth advice please, that's the one thing that will unleash the inner ***** in me. I've got cool wigs and a short, partially bald natural do- lets just leave it at that.

QOTD I haven't had a shake in probably 31/2 years and wasn't particularly fond of them then. As soon as I could get my protein in through food that was it. I do add unflavored protein powder into my oats every morning though with some peanut butter. Post op 41/2 years and weight today at 118.6. I've done terrible with fluids the last two days. Today I will have a beverage in my hand all day. Lily and I have our 3.2 miles in today. Two days ago it was 58 in the morning and today it was 23. Hating this cold air for sure but we walked anyway. Making a good choice to start off the day and to help me keep obesity away. I sure wish I had those early days where food was a bother and I wasn't hungry and the numbers were going down and people were commenting back. Enjoy them while they're there folks. Maintenance is about using the good habits you learn early and motivating yourself with whatever tools you can. It's a battle that starts anew every day. And it's by no means easy. Getting off the soapbox now. Here's the menu B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 1/2 c chicken salad 1/2 c Asian cabbage mix D 31/2 oz grilled trout 1/2 c green beans S mission one chocolate brownie protein bar.  Lots of flavored water and especially decaf coffee all day. I WILL get my 100 ounces in Today! Have a great day everyone and make some smart choices that move you one step closer to your goal!

Karen, you are always an inspiration... and yes maintenance is a different ball game. So can give my your recipe for your morning oat concoction? Including brands. I need details LOL.

Do you cook up a batch for the week and then just reheat every morning? I have tried steel cut oats and never had success. On mornings like this morning when I woke up incredibly hungry...why? who knows, it might be good to try something different.

I use Quaker brand regular steel cut oats and make per the directions. Three cups water to one cup oats. I cook them up ahead of time and reheat in the morning after adding 1/2 scoop protein powder. After it's hot I add a little bit (less than a tablespoon ) of peanut butter and sometimes a teaspoon of sugar free peach butter, pumpkin butter or Apple butter for a different flavor profile. I need the fiber of the oats and it is thick and keeps me full for a long time. I didn't start this until I was in maintenance and if I ever feel it is making me crave carbs it will be gone in an instant.

So the 1/2 cups oats is measured cooked? right?

I always think it is good to change up choices sometimes....and while I did do protein drinks for the first 2 years, when I have them now, they are definitely 'snacks' they don't keep me long.... I enjoy them and lots of fluid...but not dense.

Thanks!
