My whole day will go down the tubes if I don't start with protein in the morning. I learned real fast that eating 4 hours after I get up will make my life misery for the rest of the day. Problem is, if I try to start with food first thing it's also bad, and I cannot stand protein drinks unless I make one of my high protein hot chocolates.

so I compromise. I use 8 oz of fairlife milk to take my morning meds, then a hour or so later I can eat something light (and not scrambled eggs, ugh) and get on with the rest of my day. If it's a particularly bad pouch day I just eat fish fillets with a little sauce something on top- lemon, lime or one of my not so hot, hot sauces, and just forget trying to eat veggies.

My high protein hot chocolate drink is 1 packet of diet Swiss miss chocolate, one scoop of isopure plain mixed with 1 ounce tepid water until it's a paste, 8 ounces of hot fair life milk stirred in and viola! A protein drink I can tolerate. My Dr suggested this at my 3 month check-up and it's the only way I can do a protein drink.

I still have days where I hate to eat. But it is getting better :)

Wow ! I really admire U guys/gals for being so tough. There's no question why you're winners here!

me, I'm just a soft marshmallow and yes I was very offended by the "rules" too as I'd never really obeyed anything. I was kinda like a wild overeating feral cat. The thing is their life expectancy is under three years .((())) here's huge hugs in congratulation that you got here. Almost everybody I had surgery with did not ever find their way here even once. They suffered malnutrition and runaway regain for the most part. Some never lost ANY weight ( how?)

please listen to the caring vets here . Keep your health your sanity and get a hot body (( hugs and best wishes))))

JEFF

Oh no what is going on?

I am much too far behind you to give you any insight.

I have to admit that I have a new appreciation for everything that goes into my mouth...

So far everything I am eating tastes amazing...

I am still at the soft stage and I have seen in the past that you are much more adventurous & creative with your recipes.

I don't have a huge list of what I can tolerate and eat BUT I am definitely sticking with what works!

I truly hope that doesn't happen to me when I am at your stage of the journey.

Not sure what I can add to help.  Sending you a hug.

I must agree with the vets though.  Enjoy the success while it lasts.

Take care & Mahalo

I seem to be feeling a little better today.  I'm hoping that this is a new trend :)

Congrats on your lifestyle adjustment. This too will pass and you will merely look at certain foods as an avoidance but remember, it is not not forever.
