New here! :) some fears
Congratulations on making the decision to have the surgery! I was a normal weight (125 - 135****il I turned 30. Then I took a medicine for migraine headaches that caused me to gain 40 lbs. before I knew what hit me. At that point I just kept gaining. I tried many diets and couldn't get the weight off. I feel like I wasted 20 years of my life being fat. Really, between 30 and 50 years old should be the best time of your life. I think it's great that you're going to have it now. You have the rest of your life ahead of you. There's absolutely no point in waiting.
I wish I had done it much sooner. I did think about it for a long time but it just "clicked" after I had gallbladder surgery that I needed to go ahead and do it. I was in my surgeon's office, and there was a brochure about the different types of weight loss surgery that another surgeon in the practice did. I asked my surgeon about it, and he encouraged me to do it. As you know, it was a long process getting approved by my insurance company, but I've never regretted it.
I had high blood pressure and high cholesterol that completely went away after the surgery. I came here before my surgery and got encouragement and learned a lot like you are doing. I wish you luck going forward.
