Oh wow! Monday is going to be here so fast! I miss this exciting part of the journey. Sure, the weightloss a couple of months from now is spectacular but there was something about the newness of it all. I think Pam had a great idea about face timing but I personally didn't want my kids at the hospital waiting. They came later on that night after I was settled in my room and had a good nap.

I was hoping she could at least visit afterwards but that isn't going to happen now.  The thing is she will be staying with her maw-maw who is who raised me so basically my mom.  (don't have contact with bio-mom but very rarely but thats another story)  So she won't be there either.  So its just me and my hubby.  Which don't get me wrong I am glad he will be there, but he isn't the best helper in the world.  Hopefully things will go smoothly and I won't need much help and I will only have to stay 1 night at the hospital instead of 2.  The PA seemed pretty sure I would only stay 1 night.

I'm sure everything will go just fine. When you first wake up it will suck because everything rushes in at once so don't get discouraged. You will be surprised how fast you feel better after a good nights rest. Good luck!

I'm weird... I didn't even want my husband there after the first day... I made him go home at dinner time, and come visit the next day for a few hours... I actually enjoyed my time alone. It let me concentrate on ME... and I had the nurse call button...

But I'm like that with every surgery... be there with me before, and spend time with me, but go home at night and get some rest too!

I have a nurse friend in Philly. She came out to take care of me after my transplant.

For lesser hospitalizations all I need is my computer. I'm thinking of skipping the hospital this year.

I sent my husband to work before the surgery and told my kids they could visit me once I was home. Im not crazy about anyone seeing me when I don't feel well. And I guess its because Im a nurse -  but right after surgery is not the best time to be talking or worrying about others. I wanted to concentrate on sipping and walking.

The no children rule at my hospital was really hard for me too.  That was the worst part of it for me.  I also did facetime with her, and it made it easier for me.  She was having a fun sleepover with Papa and Grandma, so she didn't really care (5 at the time lol), but I sure did.

Congratulations on getting through 1 billion and 2 days of liquid diet ;)

It was rough for me just getting out of surgery, your girl is probably better off not seeing it.  My family was very stressed out that day.  But such a wonderful journey, so exciting!  You will be home before you know it.  Good luck!
