      HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYBODY!!

The sun is shining brightly here in CT! It is now 58 degrees and forecast for high 60's today!

It felt pretty good walking in this morning. I had on my short trench coat and it still felt a bit too warm for that! While I walk to work every morning, I put my blue tooth in and call my husband, while he's at work, and we chat before I settle in to the craziness of my office. He told me I am walking faster and faster every week, seeming to shave off an extra minute or two. YAY! ME!

I was reluctant to weigh myself this morning, I was really nervous about what the scale would reveal but I made up my mind, I would handle it like a trooper! {drum roll.........179.8!!!!) 1 pound down from yesterday! I was psyched. Perhaps that gave me an extra pep in my step walking to work this morning!

It feel so good knowing my pouch still works! I'm so glad I had the presence of mind to come to OH again! This support system is so needed and so very informative! I'm grateful!

MENU:

BREAKFAST: coffee and more coffee, creamer at home (before work), 2% milk at work, 1/2 cup of oatmeal (I will be giving this up starting next week for 5 days out of the week) small banana, splash of 2% milk.

LUNCH: 4 OZ. grilled boneless, skinless chicken breast, romaine, red peppers, cucumbers, light dressing.

DINNER: I may as well finish eating the grilled chicken and have a small salad (same as lunch)

SNACK: 2 extra sharp cheese sticks

Thank you my lovely OH'ers for all your help! You've put me on the path to health again!

Have a great, safe weekend!

Cheryl

Happy for your 1lb loss today! Would you believe it got to 70 in Boston? I worked from home after an offsite meeting and actually sat outside and worked from the patio. I feel so energized!

Super cute shirt, and all the cuter for its cute price tag.

I love the word "Sisyphean"!  Recently a friend who studied comparative literature was talking with me about the French interpretation of the tale of Sisyphus, and that has given me a new look at life:  we can find happiness in the routine of life.

This interpretation is from Camus.  At the end of his book on the 'absurd,' repetitive life, Camus writes, 'The struggle itself [...] is enough to fill a man's heart. One must imagine Sisyphus happy.'

Lately, in response to the political landscape, I have been enjoying using these words:  "charlatan," and "sycophant."

I am still recovering from my Achilles' tendon-plus-FHL tendon transfer surgery (9 days ago).  I am not especially planning meals well.  Some neighbors have brought in meals a few times.

Today I am attempting to go off the pain meds altogether.  I feel a little more energy than in the past few days but I am trying not to overdo.  I have a tendency to overdo, so this takes effort!

First photo:  Me with my lovely 85-yr-old mom, at a family event just before my Achilles surgery.

Second photo: my lovely Frankenfoot.  I think we paid $1000/stitch!

Ouch! Praying for a speedy and relatively pain-free recovery.

Happy Friday Afternoon!!  I am in DC finally got to hug my girl, scratch that my young lady, I hate when someone calls me a girl I went through puberty many many moons ago!  I am so excited to see her perform to night, I heard she was fabulous last night so night two can only get better right?  I do not have a picture to post but hopefully we can get a family photo after the show...

Food for the day:

B: Free breakfast at the hotel was 2 slices of bacon and 1/2 a banana

L: grilled chicken from a diner

WAY to much iced tea with sweetener...

D: we are going to the this all night diner after the show called Steak N' Egg.  We have to go to this place at least once every visit.  Unless it is freezing out because there hardly any indoor seats and you need to sit outside...but tradition is tradition.

Have a great evening everyone and in the spirit of theater for my daughter and her cast mates "Break a Leg"

Hello all

I was MIA yesterday.  Got home to find a fur baby not feeling well so called the veterinarian to get an appointment, I couldn't get her in until 2.   I was up with her until 9:30 and back up again at 1:30 so a very short sleep for me.  Veterinarian didn't know exactly what was wrong with her she did have a fever so he put her on an antibiotic two times a day and he said to bring her back in Saturday if she was not better.  He told me that they would then run some tests.  Thankfully she is feeling better today still not 100 percent, but much better.

I had errands to run after getting off work this morning as well as blood work to get done so went to bed late again this morning and slept until a bit ago.  So not much on the menu for today.   So glad I am off today and tomorrow.

Sisyphean has long been a word in our house. It's a great word.

I taught my son the meaning of "gaslight" today. Also a fab movie.

I've been tracking my food again for 3 days now. It brings peace to me whenever I do it. I keep having to learn that lesson.

Today, Turkey burger, yogurt, tuna, peanut butter and a banana and lots of cold brewed iced coffee.
