What's on Your Thursday Menu, RNYers?
Oh, it IS good for you! No doubt... but if you're still trying to get your groove on with your diet, I personally don't think you need to beat yourself up over not starting yet... we have enough things to beat ourselves up over!
Strength training, and aerobic exercise are great for your body, muscles, and mind... one of the best things you can do... but not critical to being thinner... 90% of that is in your diet.

I walk outside or on my treadmill (yea..right..) -I use wrist weights when I walk. plus i found some good free weights and use that...A few squats on top of things and planks... I have better muscles definition taht people that go to gym...

This place is the BEST... and the Vets are so knowledgeable. I think it's so much better for me to actually see how successful people act!

Sometimes these QOTD really make me think, and get all instrospective. I guess that can be a good thing. When Peachpie started the thread I think she asked what makes one really happy. I didn't respond to that one (too busy that day) but I did think about it off and on throughout the day. I mean, if you think too hard on that, it can REALLY make you ponder life. And now this one...what does a full time working mother of 4 children, a wife, a farm owner, a business owner, a corporation board member - what does a person like that do just for herself? Well the BIGGEST thing I did for myself was to have this surgery at the end of November, which wasn't that long ago. And recently I bought myself a new pair of shoes, though if you read my post yesterday you know they gave me bloody blisters! Haha. I am going to yoga class tonight and that was something I really wanted to do. My husband drives my 14 year old daughter into town to meet me for it, and I love that we are doing this together. I think I am going to have to remember to focus more on myself. As my husband sometimes tells the kids, "If Mamma ain't happy, ain't NO ONE happy!"

Morning! I'm not feeling well......at all. Yesterday, I mentioned that I just didn't want the protein, and my menu had a lot of fruit and veggies in it. I should have known yesterday that this sickness that has run through my house would end with me. So, I'm at work. Adulting. And I don't want to! Wahhh!
QOTD: The last thing I did for myself? RNY is the last big thing I did for myself. I do little things for myself all day every day in the form of brewing another coffee. It's small, but it's just for me. I am currently taking Chantix to try and quit smoking. I will succeed! That's a huge thing for not only myself, but for my family as well.
Almost 3 mo post op / 191 lbs (Yes....Onederland, y'all! I'm on top of the world over being less than 200 lbs, even though I'm feeling pretty rank today)
B: fruit, coffee, cheese stick
S: jerky
L: jerky, cheese stick
S: ??? maybe almonds
D: ??? I'd be surprised if I was awake long enough to eat a meal after work today.
V: On track
E: Not today....I'm going to bed as soon as I bottle feed the new calf we have in the barn. The fam is on their own tonight!!!!
