What's on Your Thursday Menu, RNYers?
Hi Julia and everyone!
WOW, I love that you love your job! I have been fortunate to have that before and it makes such a difference. The people are what can make or break any job. And kudos on becoming a runner - I am super impressed but, like Anny, while I wish I were a runner, I just can't force myself to like it. I ran a 5k a year or two ago, and afterwards, all these runner friends thought I would be "hooked" and were like "what's your next race???". I was like, "Ummm, that was it - bucket list item checked off - done!". LOL
My week has been sort of hectic. I missed out seeing NYMom Cynthia and Gwen the other night due to massive scheduling conflicts. I have also only been to the gym once this week. Ugh. So hmmm, your question about the last nice thing I did for myself...perhaps it's been a while. This makes me want to schedule a massage for next week!
Time since surgery: 3 years, 2 months (in maintenance which is a *****):
B: Coffee with cream, egg salad made with mayo, mustard, salt, pepper and cayenne!
L: Buffalo chicken flatbread
D: PF Changs lettuce wraps (I posted my favorite turkey recipes on Julie's post in the General Discussion forum and it made me really want these, and I have the ingredients!)
E: MUST go to the gym. MUST.
V: My patches are on. God how I love the ease of the patches. I pray that the next time I have a physical and get my labs tested that the patches work for me!
Have a wonderful day, all!
I just had my 9 month check up. My doctor was VERY dubious when I showed up 3 months ago telling him I had been on the patches for 3 months already... but when he looked at my blood test results he said I could stay on them then... now, 3 months later (and 6 months on the patches), my numbers were to his satisfaction and I think I am officially his guinea pig! I LOVE the patches, and the part I love the most is that I forgot to put them on this morning,,, but you know what? I can do it this evening and just sleep with them, and all is good with the world!
I hope you have the same fantastic results I have!!!

I dream of being a runner... I like the idea of simplicity, especially if you are traveling. Shoes-run. easy, right? Ha.
I went to Roadrunner Sports in Rockville when I was there...where they do a computer analysis of your feet and make you walk or run on the treadmill so they can examine your gait... They actually had size 12s which was a miracle in itself... and ones that fit my 'profile'....Gwen had VIP status and a coupon in her email so I got 30% off...score!
So we will see if any running happens. Would like to get some 'trail' sneakers for hiking though.... realize I do love hiking, climbing those rocks in the great outdoors is the bomb and time flies.
My favorite thing to order at Cheesecake factory is there lettuce wrap appetizer. even pre-WLS. They show the calories being high...but I figure that must include eating all of the three sauces they give you...
Sometimes at Target food section I find just Romaine leaves in a container, which is convenient and great for lettuce wraps.

I haven't been too active over here the past few days! But it's all be very positive! Julia, it's funny you mention your job and how great it is to love what you do! I have been working where I am for about 3.5 years. I hired on here because we were part of Chesapeake Energy at the time, and Chesapeake had so many perks at the office and superb benefits I decided to flirt with the devil and get back into this industry after 2 decades of knowing better... the downturn happened, we spun off into our own company, and my boss at the time was a control freak... but I stayed on, got my Real Estate License, and just enjoyed the benefits here, albeit miserable with my day to day duties. Fast forward, and I have a new boss... and OMG, what a difference he has made not only in my outlook about this company, but my duties are expanding, and I feel USEFUL again! Staying home with my kids really squashed my career ladder, and I finally feel as though there is hope and growth here!!! So Happy!
QOTD: Since I started this journey, I've added so many things that I do for myself! I've gotten MUCH more selfish about ME... I take time for myself, whether that's cloaked in a shopping trip to one of the many Goodwill's, or going to the gym and getting a tan instead of working out (Ha)... On Tuesday when I had my doc appointment, I took a little extra time and hit the awesome Goodwill in Norman, which is a college town, so the clothes are usually awesome down there... I got THE CUTEST sundress to wear in Austin when we are down there! (Oh Elizabeth!!! It's getting closer! So excited!) Anyone else in the Austin area? I'll be there for 4 days!
Weight this morning: 148.4 holding steady again
B: 2 coffees with Non-Dairy creamer (I hope I remember to get fresh stuff, because this stuff stinks!)
B2: Looks like the leftover curried chicken I made several weeks ago now...
L: Another sweet freezer surprise! LOL
D: I'm tossing around the idea of Fathead Pizza for the family... trying to decide if I have the energy to do that much prep work... but boy does it sound good!
S: Decaf latte with Fairlife milk!
