What's on Your Thursday Menu, RNYers?

this week has flown by for me as well - and I didn't even have last weekend or Monday off!  I can't believe it's Thursday already!!  It's been busy, though - the library has been packed, we've got the ESL (English as a Second Language) classes coming over for their library research training, and I've had meetings for organizations I'm in three nights this week.  Plus I worked Tuesday night.  I managed to squeeze in a Body Pump class last night (I usually hate anything that has to do with strength-training, but this class is tolerable), but not sure I'll be able to squeeze anything in tonight - or at least not a class.  Maybe I can just go use the treadmill or stationery bike since it may be 9:00-ish before I have time..

QOTD:  I was hoping to get to a yoga class this week, but no go.  It's a treat for me since slow, gentle yoga is very relaxing.  Maybe tomorrow night...   Otherwise, I'm trying to arrange to go visit my second cousin and her mother in Iowa this weekend.  A weekend away would be a great break, and her mom is headed back to Florida in another week or two, so this would be perfect - except now they're calling for snow!!  So we'll see if this is going to come together or not...  If not, I'm promising myself a relaxing weekend. Maybe doing things with friends and/or playing around with my Instant Pot.

20 months out/maintenance  (144 lbs, 5'6"):

B:  plain Greek yogurt with 1/2 scoop Syntrax Truffle, 2 t cacao nibs, fresh raspberries (better be a light eating day the rest of the day!!  Yikes!!  But so good!!)

S:  coffee with half & half, SF protein/fiber pumpkin chai tea latte

L:   chili

D:   maybe Trader Joe's turkey meatballs and steamed asparagus

In Georgia, I belonged to LA Fitness and they had a body pump class... I was addicted to that class, and I still miss it! I joined Planet Fitness after an exhausting search of gyms around where I live, and while I like it, I would pay extra to find another Body Pump class!

Ok so much to do today. Had a late night call with China at 10 PM to get consensus on a project. And I worked most of the night up until the call. Just a cycle to work through :)

QOTD: I went to see a counselor on Monday. I think I'm really going to like it, and she gave me the idea of sprouting (growing sprouts and eating them). You get 100% full benefit versus eating the full grown fruit or plant later. So I spent $4 on alfalfa and wheatgrass sprouting seeds. If that works i might try broccoli and radish ones.

I was wondering- do we need to put maintenance /losing on our stats? I saw that on JB post this morning and thought it was a good idea. I might help the new people or lurkers that think we might eat a zillion calories everyday and get the wrong idea?

Ok- food for me-

Yesterday ended up having lunch at panera- so i had yogurt, 1/2 steak arugula sand no bread/greek goddess chicken salad, dressing on side. then I had a coffee. Dinner was crack chicken. Tamed down the stats a bit, (greek whipped yogurt 1 tub, a tiny bit of cheese, and added 1 service of cottage cheese) used an entire roasted chicken in IP (used slow cook function) had it on 1/2 flat out wrap 45calores and green beans. DH had chips with his like nachos.

today i need to make some hard boiled eggs to eat, yogurt, leftover roast/spinach i think, and crack chicken. Don't think I will be making another meal with two out there.

Morning gorgeous! I have the same menu every day, so I won't bore anyone with it.

But how about this weather? There were birds singing outside yesterday, it's been so nice. I need to go to the supermarket later, and might walk, it's so warm.

QOTD: I don't know, because I do little things for myself every day. Big things, not so much.

Grim, I took my puppy out to potty at 4am when I got out of bed.  I had my long sleeve shirt on, no jacket.  I looked at the weather app on my phone, it was 57 degrees this morning at 4am in Detroit.  IN FEBRUARY.  It's crazy.

Good morning JB and gang.  I don't know what the hell has gotten into me (actually, i do, but you guys have heard me whine so much lately, I won't get into it).  I've been up since around 3 or 3:30.  I was so full of anxiety and stuff last night that I went to bed with my kiddo at 8:30pm.  I woke up between 3 and 3:30, which really sucks, but if you look at it I got at least 6.5 hours of sleep, so while tonight is going to suck, it's not really a big deal.  My little one woke up at 4am and came looking for me, so that was fun.  He fell asleep again on the way to daycare. But we had a good puppy morning and Bugsy pooped outside.  The pooping is coming along nicely, but the peeing is harder to curb.

So, I didn't pack a lunch today, and I have no excuse why since I was up for 3 hours before I had to leave the house this morning.  I guess I'll chalk it up to laziness.  Honestly, the posting on the boards yesterday on that shopping addiction thread kinda sent me into a tailspin of anxiety.  It was a rough afternoon and evening, that's why I went to bed so early.  Hubby wasn't home and I just wanted to shut my eyes and escape.  I'm feeling mostly better today, a little on edge, but that's probably since I just ate for the first time and I've been up and at them for 6 hours.

18.75 months since surgery

B: Turkey Pepperoni, Ricotta and mozzarella egg cup and coffee with SF coffeemate

L: didn't pack, I have to grab something out today.

D: No plans, but hubby is coming home this afternoon, so it will be a whole family affair.

S: I brought a light and fit greek yogurt as a snack.

Stay beautiful everyone!

Edited to respond to the QOTD which I forgot:

I did buy myself some shoes this week, LOL.  I am going to returning a pair of them when they arrive, but I am keeping the other pair.  That is the last nice thing I did for myself.  Oh and I got my haircut for the first time since October and eyebrows waxed for the first time in like a year last weekend.

Potty training is one of the reasons I hesitate to have another puppy!  I don't envy you one bit!

Good Morning JB and Menu Family!

I'm so happy that you love your job so much, Julia!  That's wonderful!

QOTD:  Yesterday I got up at 5 am so I treated myself to a 2-hour nap late in the afternoon.  Then I got up and took Blossom on a nice walk in the beautiful weather around the subdivision.  The day was sunny and warm with a pretty blue sky.  Our subdivision has gravel lanes lined with lots of pretty trees so it's a very picturesque & peaceful walk so it is always a real treat for me to go walking there with my dog.

B:  grits with cheese

L:  lettuce, chicken, cheese, nuts, low cal dressing

D:  chili cheese dog

S:  Light n Fit Greek yogurt

S:  roast beef roll-ups with cream cheese

Exercise:  Walking Blossom around the subdivision

Have a FANTASTIC day everyone!

Good morning everyone!

If you've got time to kill this morning you can look busy by reading about my "job interview" but for the rest feel free to skip ahead to the next paragraph. I received an email last Friday asking if I was available for a job interview on Tuesday, a quick greeting, one sentence and no additional details. I responded within 20 mins of receiving it that I was, thanked him for the opportunity, looked forward to hearing etc. Then...nothing. No response Friday and then the weekend comes and I'm still left wondering. Then Monday (which was a holiday) still no response so I reached out again on Monday afternoon. Still no response. Then around 9pm Monday night I get an email, the entire contents of which was "Wednesday at 12:45pm?". At this point I was drawing too many comparisons between this potential new employer and my last one so I was heading to the interview primarily for practice. How can a job posting repeatedly stress the importance of strong communication skills when this is how they conduct themselves?! Feeling like it wasn't going to be a good fit for me I was still excited to get back out there and it put a lot less pressure on me so I was looking forward to using all that interview prep. I arrived 15 mins early, organized myself and headed in...or tried to, there was no one there. I looked around, waited, called, waited and 10 mins after the scheduled time I left. The entire thing was ridiculous from start to finish, so much so that I'm already at the look back on it and laugh stage. And the search continues!!!

QOTD I have always carried a lot of my weight in my legs. I'm not suggesting that's the only place I stored it but proportional to my waist my legs have always been bigger and unfortunately that has only been exaggerated by weight loss. Finding well fitting pants can be a struggle at the best of times but recently I've been having a really hard time finding anything close to fitting. I've been out a bunch of times looking and trying on and every time I was getting increasingly frustrated. I was consistently fitting my waist into 20's but the leg was too tight for me to even leave the dressing room. I finally caved and ordered some jeans online that I thought were a similar style to the ones I was wearing 100 lbs ago. I ordered an 18 with the hopes of being in them by my birthday 2 months from now. They arrived yesterday and I don't have to wait, they fit perfectly. Unbelievable how much better a good fit makes you feel.

B- coffee w/sf hazelnut

L- chicken breast and quacamole

D- pork tenderloin

S- turkey slices, protein drink

Totals 511 cals, 90g protein, 3g carbs

Have a great day!!

Christine
