Good morning, everyone! Short weeks are weird--how is it already Thursday?! Yesterday was a looong day, too. I left the house at 6am and came home after the gym at 8pm. The gym was good! Stacy was right, the 3 miles was still a run/walk combo and I set the ratio to 2mins of running to 1min of walking. The last few minutes were hard but I did the whole thing and it wasn't as bad as I would have imagined. I am not even sore today, which feels like a miracle! This morning I am bringing Grim with me to the gym (I can bring guests!) and he's going to show me how to effectively do the circuits for strength training.

Can I just gush for a minute about how much I love my job? It is such a positive work environment and even when things are hard or go awry, we do so much strategic planning & debriefing and talk through issues so productively. I have never been in a place that does it so well, and I feel really lucky that I work with such a great team. The work we do is hard (emotionally), and if we were not in such a positive environment, I don't think it would be sustainable. But besides a positive work environment, I really believe in self-care, too! QOTD: What is the last nice thing you did for yourself (big or small)? Mine is rather small, but I didn't set an alarm today! I still woke up at 5, but I felt no pressure. I love being able to do little things for myself that make a big difference in how I feel.

I had both my toes and nails done just before surgery, and I didn't have to have a clear nail (I was worried too!) Ask when you go in today :)

Part of my pre-op instructions was to have no polish on. But even if you have to remove it, the experience sounds like it was wonderful :)

Morning!

I have been missing the last couple of mornings...we had some virus come through, I don't know what. I thought it might be flu because it started with a high temp for one of my kids, but in the end I think probably not. He was the only one with a high temp. But, it triggered for me the worst asthma problems I've had in a long time. I've finally got it under control but I had a miserable couple of days! Anyway...

Hmmm...nice thing i've done for myself. Well, I saw this project I wanted to do for Lent, a craft project...I haven't made anything that isn't kid-related for ages...but I wanted to make this. I bought some lovely wool felt on etsy for it, and I've even started it, though it may be next Lent by the time I fini**** ha! It's hard to find time, and my four year old is *fascinated* with it and keep trying to grab the little pieces I cut out (oh yeah, that's why I don't do this stuff)...in theory I can work on it a little when they are in bed. We will see how that works. I have long days here...when they go to bed, sometimes I am still getting ready for the next day, and then I am ready for bed myself...I don't stay up late. But it'll get finished as best I can manage.

Menu today...we have our homeschool co-op so we will be leaving here soon and food will be on the go until dinner.

Breakfast- coffee and milk now, turkey snack sticks and baby bell cheese in the van

Lunch- packing deli roast beef wrapped around laughing cow cheese, pesto, roma tomatoes, and spinach leaves

Snack-  almonds in the van, tea and half a protein bar at home

Dinner- Making chicken paprikash for dinner. I'll have mine without the pasta of course.

Snack- cannon light and fit greek yogurt

Glad you are feeling better!

I have my great grandmother's recipe for chicken paprikash that has been handed down (and I believe slightly altered) to me! I make it with these homemade Hungarian dumplings... I confess to eating a few... but I do grab mostly chicken out! LOL SOOOO GOOOOOOD!!!! We have some frozen in the freezer, but NOT in my little mystery cups... that is only 2-3 times a year that I'll eat it now... But you're making me want it! YUM!
