Brain fog - when does it lift?

It takes time for your body to adjust after surgery.

I am (7) weeks out and still exhausted.

I am very active and clearly not getting enough sleep.

Are you able to rest in the evenings and get to bed early enough.

Make sure you are getting all your water & protein in.

It is my understanding that we are not allowed anything with caffeine, but you can still have decaf coffee.

I miss the refreshing jolt regular coffee used to give me.

I am going to continue to follow the rules because I don't want anything to go wrong...

Good luck!

FYI, there is no medical reason to not have caffeine unless you have a medical sensitivity to it.  From what I have read, doctors say no caffeine because they think fat people are too stupid and food-focused to follow rules regarding sugary sodas, etc.  The ASBMS says it is fine after the first month: https://asmbs.org/patients/life-after-bariatric-surgery

I went back to work two weeks after surgery -- I teach at two major universities.  I was very concerned about being in a fog -- it was bad -- and it lasted until about the 6 to 8 week mark.
