Thanks for the input...

I am glad you put the ratio in perspective.

I am still a bit stressed out about the 5 hour lay over in Montreal.  Hoping to find a soup without starches and hopefully some protein.

At almost 7 weeks out, what should my caloric intake be?

Can't seem to get my dietician to address that...

Thanks again

I never counted calories during weight loss only protein and fluids. That being said as I periodically did My Fitness pal I saw my calories. Early on it was 550-600 ish then for a long time was between 550-750 depending on the day.... I could occasionally have a higher day, and that is OK. Travel is hard. By the end of year one I was more like 750-950. But it is different for everyone. My Center doesn't give calorie goals either. They don't give total carb goals either except to say what you eat shouldn't have more than 5g sugar and any fruit or carbs should only be occasionally and at the end of the list IF you have any room after protein and veggies. And face it in the beginning you don't have room.

I stayed around 600 for the first six months or so. Early on that was usually a "try to get to" goal.  After six months it was a "stay at or below" goal until maintenance. Then I raised the goal up slowly over time until I have been able to maintain the weight I am now. Currently I am at around 1200/day and have been maintaining for the last several weeks. I am watching like a hawk though because if my body decided to start absorbing more calories I might start to gain on this intake.  If I do, down it will go again. 1200/day feels like plenty of food though so I am hoping this is the new norm...we shall see.
