Crazy day here. Worrying for the washer repair guy to finish up. Hoping he can fix it without ordering parts. Then going to take my Guy to the doctor. He came down with the crud over the weekend. So I am taking a sick day and get to be home. Playing with my puppy and made 2 pounds of bacon. Nom nom nom.

QOTD: The things you all have said so far for sure. The only one I can add is that food is more enjoyable now. When I was MO food was exciting and fun to plan to eat but then I would eat really fast and be disappointed that it was gone already. Now I actually think I taste the food and enjoy the quality of it more.

Menu: B: Greek yogurt with granola and strawberries; L: 1 fried egg and 2 strips of bacon; D: American Goulash in Instant Pot; S: Apple, Chobani Simply 100 Crunch

Have a great one!

Do you cook that much bacon in the oven?

My family is out of town. I'm married to a vegetarian so the one thing I don't cook in the house is bacon.

I was just thinking this morning I could fry a bunch up and maybe freeze it? It's so blissfully quiet in the house!

I hope you son heals up quick.

Nope,  I pan fried it. Only took about half an hour. Now my hair smells like bacon. I am delicious.

I can't be that delicious. I have a blind/deaf dog that would hound me all night!  I've been doing some deep cleaning in the kitchen. I decided I would let someone else cook the bacon for me.

I like to use my George Foreman grill for bacon. House still smells like bacon, but there are no grease splashes and you don't have to constantly watch over it.   :)

I think freezing would be OK. Just a quick zap in the microwave to crisp it up.

I inherited a recessive gene from my grandmother. The small appliance gene. It's mostly in remission. I live in a small house so I'm always weeding stuff out. George left years ago. My son has a Cuisinart Griller. His first appliance he wanted. I may have passed it to my son.

I think I enjoy it more, too... and when people mention how little I eat - and follow it up with any kind of sorrow for me - I tell them that honestly I'm really satisfied after I eat my measured amounts... I go slower, MUCH slower, than I did pre-op, and I really taste everything so much better!

That's not to say I don't CRAVE more things... but once I eat, I'm full and happy.

bathroom stalls - YES!  I don't automatically scope out a disabled stall any more - the regular ones fit me just fine (or vice versa!)
