I haven't had a migraine since before surgery... granted, they really haven't been bad the last couple of years, but still... make me happy since I used to take 800mg of ibuprofen just as the lights started (I get ocular migraines with lights), and I could get to my bed in time with that... I don't know what I'll do if I get one now...

that was my biggest worry before getting WLS.  I pretty much lived on ibuprofen (headaches) and Aleve (arthritis).  Esp ibuprofen - there were some times of the year when I took it 3 or 4 times a week, easily.  But I have had only a handful of days since surgery when I've really wished I could take them (but haven't...).  95% of the time, they're mild enough that Tylenol does the trick.  I never would have guessed!!  (I did cortisone injections for awhile to deal with the arthritis so I wouldn't have to take Aleve - but it's been a good 7 or 8 months since I last had one - I think I'm done with those as well!)

I used to live on Advil too, I was taking 4 tabs twice a day just to be able to walk. This was one of the reasons my doctor decided to do the VSG instead of the RNY in addition to my comorbidities and heart meds. I do have permission to take it on very rare occasions and only on the worst of days. I have only needed to take it on 3 occasions and only took 2 tabs. When I do take it I have to take an extra Nexium to protect my pouch.

Morning everyone!!!

Hoping this week is less stressful than the last! I had a great weekend! Friday night I went out with the girls to this salon/boutique in my little town where I live for a fashion show/raffle/silent auction to benefit a local dog rescue. It was a BLAST! And of course, 10% of the sales from the boutique that night benefited the rescue as well, and it seems I did my part to support! 2 new adorable blouses, and a new pair of shoes! The sales lady was grabbing a shirt for me and asked what size I wanted, and when I said medium - which still sounds so strange - she told me I probably need a small in these because of how tiny I am... huh??? Loe and behold... I own two small shirts from the boutique!

QOTD: So this weekend I had a really weird "Oh, because I was fat" moment... I was hugging my hubs, and he was holding me longer than I expected, and I realized that I was standing kind of far away from him, and I was leaning into this hug... and that's because when I was fat, my body couldn't get that close! I stepped into him, and my entire body aligned with his, and I could actually feel all of him... and, my back was much happier. I kept hugging him all weekend long after that and we'd just laugh. So, I hug differently now.

Here are my meals for the next few days! Grab bag meals from the freezer... looks like I grabbed 4 jambalaya, a curry chicken, and an eggfaces ricotta bake with meats! LOL And my HOMEMADE beef jerky for snacks, 2 ounces for 2-3 days. I think I'll grab a couple more tomorrow to mix up that jambalaya, and throw some of these in the freezer at work and I'll just have food for all week here.

Weight this morning 148.2. Very pleased with the continued loss! Tomorrow is my 9 month, and I'd like to see the scale under 150 even on their scale with my clothes on! Hoping!!

Have a Great Day!!!!

Thanks! This was my first try. I really like dry thin jerky, and I got that part down perfect! Gonna add a little more spice to it next time, and maybe let it dry a bit longer.

Good morning everyone!

Yesterday was a beautiful day and we took full advantage by going down to the trail by the harbour. We walked over 7 miles and while that's not unusual for me to complete over the course of the day I don't usually go that far all at once. We were going at a good pace too, my BIL is 6'3" and his long legs determined our speed so it was an effort to keep up but I did. I don't believe I would have been able to do that even 2 months ago, forget that, I know I wouldn't have. I thought to myself a few times during the walk that "it feels nice to feel normal"... which makes me a little sad at the same time but it felt good to be out exercising, passing the casual strollers and not stopping until we were finished the whole thing. It made me realize that as much as I have been walking recently my survey is far too flat and I need to find some hills to push myself on more often.

QOTD "Oh it was because I was fat" realizations.... well I'm still fat but there are already differences, I guess I'm now a more "acceptable" level of fat. People talk to me more. I was never one to strike up conversations everywhere I went but depending on the cir****tances I would offer a smile, joke or friendly comment and I've now realized that the majority of the time I was the one to initiate. Now it's happening much more often and I'm not the one starting it so it's catching me off guard. I'll adjust but right now it's a bit strange. Another thing I've been adjusting to is a decrease in my personal space. Just as people seem more willing to talk they're more willing to stand close or greet with a hug or put a hand on your back as they move by you during the crowded super bowl party. As I type this my brain is flooded with examples of things that are different and while part of me would like to be mad about how different the world seems to view me I have to stop myself and remember how different I view the world now too.  I was invited for a long walk and didn't hesitate, I was invited to a hockey game and didn't think twice about having to squeeze into the arena seats... the "oh it was because I was fat" list is a long one...

For those with the day off, enjoy!! For those who are working...enjoy!! It'll be a little harder but you can do it!!

I had lost 125 lbs before so I noticed the way people treated me different. When I gained all the weight back I looked for the "ugly" treatment from people and noticed it while it was happening. It was absolutely heart wrenching to be aware of what was going on.

I know what you mean about an "acceptable" level of fat.  Your post reminded me of the time a year or so ago when  I realized I'd crossed the line from being a "freakishly fat" person to a "normal fat" person.  Whew!
