Question re: Miralax
How often and how much do you take a day? Just curious to know what everyone else is doing with Miralax for constipation.
Thanks!

The only difference between "extraordinary" and "ordinary" is that little "extra"!!
I am trying to figure this out too, I'm thinking it's going to be one dose daily, and then if it's not enough, magnesium every third day or so. A hot cup of decaf coffee seems to help first thing in the morning.
I try to remind myself: so much less in means so much less out...

Is one dose 1 tablespoon?

I take magnesium ever day at night. Capsules. App 800 mg.
I take Miralax in the morning . 1 capfull + depending on my morning BM and the BM on day before that, and before that. If needed I took up to 3 a day. But that was when I get really backed up, or after travelingof after I had a a really bad week..
I have ibs-C so stress may everything stop.
But - if taking Miralax or magnesium - drinking enough water is a must. For every cap of Miralax - I drink and additional 24 oz of water.
Magnesium is critical. Not mom - but magnesium. We get runs with too much magnesium when we take more than our body can absorb at that time.
Low magnesium can cause constipation.

I am filled with sadness today....
So tired of the constipation and the vicious cycle that accompanies it.
I spent (12) hours at a Top 100 Ontario Prospects Football Challenge yesterday. All (3) of my sons made the team & I truly enjoy watching them play.
I skipped my Restoralax yesterday & paid the price this morning.
I have been deligent with my Restoralax, Colace (stool softeners) Prunes daily, (2) litres of water daily, (1) litre of decaf coffee/teas. Argh... One miss step and I am back to square one.
Constipation just causes so much darn pain and discomfort and then you are left one week with the fallout of it's destruction. Oh know, I am very dramatic today.... BUT boy oh boy.
My advice to all the newbies and anyone else battling constipation?
STAY ON TOP OF IT. . .
Your poor bottom will thank you for it!
Take care

IN THE END WE ONLY REGRET CHANCES WE DIDN'T TAKE.
I'm still struggling with the right balance. It's somewhere between 1/2 to 1-1/4 a dose per day, but I can't seem to figure out when I need more and when I need less. I basically go 3 days without pooping, and 2 days with the opposite problem. And two days in between I'm sorta regular.
I think magnesium might be helpful. It was what I took to stay regular before surgery.
