What's on your Saturday menu, RNYers?
on 2/18/17 3:50 am
Good morning! I'm going to start this thread today with literally no idea what I'm eating yet, but I wanted to get us started :) I'll come back with a real meal plan soon!
QOTD: What is making you really happy right now? For me it's the 3 snow days we had last week, and next week is school vacation week! I know that's going to sound like I don't like my job, but that's not it at all! This is a high burnout time of year in education, and I just want to say that it is SO MUCH EASIER to run schools without kids and teachers in them. LOL. So I'm getting way ahead on projects and feeling really great. I'm also really happy that I decided to join a gym today! I can't believe I miss running. Who am I?!?
(coming back with my menu soon)
Have a great day, everyone!
Good morning! I fly back to Massachusetts from Florida mid-day today. I'm not looking forward to leaving!
QOTD: What makes me happy is the sun and warmth, which is why being in Florida for the last 2 weeks was great. I'll be back for another 2 weeks on March 18, so I'll just have to stick it out (hopefully there won't be any major snowstorms in New England between 2/18-3/18).
B: eggbeaters and cottage cheese, English muffin with peanut butter
L: tuna salad, pickles and cottage cheese
D: Out to dinner somewhere with SIL who is picking me up at the airport
S: protein bars or chips, almonds (packed for traveling)
Have a wonderful Saturday!

Glad I'm not the only one without a plan!
I changed my mind yesterday and left the city and decided to head to the farm. Visited my grandparents yesterday. It was a great visit, and like so many conversations it centred on food hahah. My grandmother, who lost a 130 ish pounds with TOPS in the 80s (and maintained),is over the moon with my loss. And my grandfather was telling me stories of what they ate when they worked in the mines and lumber camps, and how they got through the rationing of the war years on their farm. It was a good visit since it was just the three of us.
So that makes me happy. And so does my current view, and drinking coffee going through this cookbook I picked up at the library on my way out of town.
Menu:
this is where I'd insert the shrug emoji if OH supported that.... but meals here are always protein forward, and I packed some shakes too, so that will probably be breakfast.
Have a great Sunday everyone!
