(6) week update
on 2/17/17 3:15 pm
Hi. Glad to hear you are moving along! My dietician has been worthless. I switched and that dietician is worthless. All they do is read a book that the hospital supplies them and then they go straight by the book. I did eat some carbs (little bits - brown rice and whole grain noodles) and everyone yelled at me (the long termers). Since I cut it out completely my weight loss has accelerated.
My doctors has me taking B12 once a week under the tongue.
Yes, constipation sucks!
You are doing great!!
Hello
Yes! Dietitians are useless !
You call in with a question and you still haven't heard after 4 days!
I definitely get more support from all of you .
My B 12 was 100 over normal so I am off it for one week.
Then back every other day.
I am back for bloodwork March 27th I wonder when the bloodwork comes back abnormal?
Well clearly you are doing great! Keep up the great work!
Sandra.

That your dietician asked you to add rice pasta or bread is ridiculous....there is next to no nutrition in those carb sources!!!!!!
My dietician asked me to up carbs to 100 grams. Instead I switched to a balance macro plan. 35% carb 25% fat, 40% protein. My carbs come mostly from legumes, seeds, vegetables and berries. I have a few tbs of steel cut oats in the am which I make as overnight oats with premier protein. That is the only grains in my diet.
It ends up being 25 or more grams of fiber a day. I add 1/2 cap of restoralax to my oats and keeps me regular. I'm not at 100 grams of carbs but I will be eventually when my calories increase and I'm fine with it. I'm currently eating around 950 calories a day. Because of the high fiber my net carbs end up at around 50gms a day.
When i switched from low carb to this plan (which is more of a nutrition forward plan where I try and only eat highly nutritious foods) my weight loss actually sped up. I was shocked and expected to stall and or slow down...but nope.

Sounds like you are doing great. I am not sure what your B-12 was, but many of us find being at the high end works better for us. I was in normal range about 500, and getting symptoms of being deficient... so I now stay in the 1000-1100 range and I know some stay higher.

Hello
My levels were 755. Our norms are 200-500...
I tried the google the negative effects of a B12 that is too high, but I couldn't find anything...
There are a lot of results for the diseases that manifest themselves with a high B12 in blood results...
Not sure what to do now? Do I continue taking my 1000 mcg daily?
Thanks
Sandra
