Good morning. I would be eating a lot of oatmeal and toast and other carbohydrates without OH. That is what the book called for me to be eating at this time.. The nutritionist raised her eyebrow when I told her I was focusing primarily on protein with limited carbohydrates.
B Fage with Tbs granola
L thought I'd check out the cafeteria. I never go there because I couldn't stand in line. Trying to get another NSV with that
D Pulled pork in small salad
S syntrax ice tea and half quest bar into cookies
Daisy - how fun that you guys got to meet up! That's fantastic :) I love the friendships and in-person meetups I have had from OH. This place has been invaluable in helping me to be successful - I found this site and modeled my honeymoon period after people who have been successful with losing a ton of weight. I was low carb, low sugar, no alcohol (pretty militantly!) for that first year after surgery and I am glad I stayed that way until I hit my goal. My nutritionist also advocates oatmeal, grits, brown rice, toast, etc. She is also the tiniest person ever.
Time since surgery: 3+ years

Love the picture of the 2 Daisy's! One of these days I will have a face to face meet up with someone here. Quick post today as I'm headed up to food pantry and then to get ready for camping. Here's the eats B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 31/2 oz tuna 1/2 c sweet potatoes D 31/2 oz strip steak 1/2 c carrots S mission one chocolate brownie protein bar. QOTD I would not have lost all my weight or kept it off without all of you. This board and post helps keep me accountable and gives me motivation to keep fighting the battle. My surgeon is 11/2 hours away so while his support group is great it's too far to drive for an hour meeting most times. So you all are my support. Thanks for being here!
Good Morning!! So sorry your still not sleeping well
QOTD: this is my support group, hands down! I would be lost without OH!! I have been here a long time, not always making myself known, but always here! Event though my Dietitian has "special" bariatric education, she still pushes the carb thing, I'm not willing to go there. My insurance doesn't cover her visits either, I have much better things to spend that $240.00 on !!!!!!!
I agree Daisy, experience is the BEST teacher!

Good Morning! I am frustrated with the post office at the moment. For some reason when I placed an Amazon order last week the suite # fell off my address (my bad for not noticing I know!). Anyhow, yesterday got an email from Amazon that there was an issue with the address. I called the 1-800 for USPS and they told me it was okay just to call my local office and ask them to hold the package so I could come get it there. Well fast-forward to yesterday afternoon and the local office told me that since the carrier knew it was a business address without the suite # he didn't even take it with him and they put it on the truck to go back where it came from. Of course this whole process took well over an hour on the phone to figure out and now I have to wait until the package goes back to the sender and then back to me again....all hoping that all happens by March 6th (it's part of an anniversary gift). Just needed to vent for a second!
QOTD: Really I am not sure. I think I would have originally attended more of the local support group options they have. But I found this site and got so much helpful information and support from the beginning I knew it was the place for me. I do wish there was an app for us!
Oh I almost forgot to mention something exciting that happened to my hubby yesterday. If you have me on FB you already saw the post I shared from my hubby yesterday but.....I know I have mentioned here before that he is doing a work-out program called DDPYoga. DDP=a wrestler named Diamond Dallas Page that my hubby has watched and been a fan of since he was like 8. Anyhow, he has been doing well and is part of the DDPYoga FB group and yesterday DDP called him to congratulate him on his success. I was so excited for him!!

Love Diamond Dallas. I bought his DVD's back when Arthur Boorman fixed his knees... I was very hopeful but alas it did not do the trick. I keep saying I will get back to those DVD's though. It is a great way to do yoga.
