What's on your Menu Today (Thursday) RNYers?
Right?? Almost everyone at my place is young and beautiful. If you get old or fat they must take you out back and put you down. Only the lady you check out with is in her 60s or so and slightly soft looking. I keep wanting to ask her if she is one of the surgeon's mothers or something...

Liz, you look beautiful in that red dress!!

I work 12 hours today on two jobs. Both are involve walking and opening packages, lifting and bending. I broke the 4th and 5th toe a couple of weeks ago when I fell off a step stool that collapsed on my foot while I was painting.
Everyone have a successful day!

Good Morning!! What a great picture and how wonderful for you both to meet up!! Although I joined OH long ago I didn't start to really use it until the last few months. I did not find a forum that had much activity besides the general one which seems to be more newbie or pre-surgery questions. Now that I found this one (RNY) I LOVE it!!! I helps me stay accountable because I have to admit to you all when I make poor choices. And when I do, you all help pick me back up and keep my mind straight. It is so nice to have so many people to share the same experiences with who know exactly what each other are going through!! We are blessed to have each other.
Yesterday's menu looked like this: B: coffee L: hunters sausage, parmesan asparagus D: country ribs, cauliflower S: sugar free jello made with greek yogurt
Good Morning Daisy and Menu Family!
Great picture of the two Daisies! So glad you two got to meet up!
QOTD: My Center is a 3 hour drive away so I don't go there very often and never go to their bariatric support groups. So this group is a life-saver for me! The advice of those who have gone before me is priceless and I treasure the friendships I have made on here. Thank you all for being here!
B: bacon & spinach egg frittata
L: lettuce, chicken, cheese, nuts & low cal dressing
D: chili cheese dog
S: Light n Fit Greek yogurt
S: Roast beef roll-ups with cream cheese
Exercise: Walking Blossom around the subdivision.
Have a FANTASTIC day everyone!

QOTD: I don't do ultra-low carb, but then, I'm not particularly carb sensitive - although I'm well aware that a lot of folks on here *are*. I started coming on here mostly for information and to keep myself laser-focused on my weight loss. I stay on here for the accountability, the friends I've made, the sense of community, for being around people who "get it", and also, to keep me focused. I'm afraid if I ever lost that focus, I'd start to stray. I've read that only about 10% of people who start out SMO ever make it to a normal weight, and I think most of that 10% are probably on OH (OK - so I'm exaggerating, but still, I bet our numbers are much higher. I'm not doubting the 10% figure, but I think given the community here - the support, the advice, and the whole host of successful people here who *have* actually done it, the percentages of our group are probably much higher...)
20 months out:
B: homemade Greek yogurt with fresh raspberries
S: coffee with half & half, protein shake (Syntrax Fuzzy Navel and Crystal Light lemonade)
L: 2 hard-boiled eggs, Chinese-style Brussels sprouts
D: pulled pork, cole slaw made with sesame-miso vinaigrette
a L&F Greek yogurt this evening if I can afford the calories...
exercise: a yoga or cardio dance class (whichever I'm in the mood for...)
Morning everyone! I'm making a point to post today since I'm above my comfort zone with weight-- visibility=accountability :-) I love to see OH meet-ups!
QOTD: What would I do w/o OH? Carry on. I was more active on Bariatric Pal initially and lost interest in that and became more active here. But, honestly the internet in general is what credit for balancing out my knowledge and giving me a drive to do well and develop an approach that works for my lifestyle. Looking at instragram pics- seeing success & not so successful stories here, on youtube, other bloogs, etc. I'm not a 'put all my eggs in one basket type'-- I take the best tidbits from each and mush them together for my own individual approach. WLS programs have a hard task to try and give a general message to a lot of folks with different needs, viewpoints, backgrounds, education levels. One size does not fit all-- and molding understanding to each person to result in success is a daunting feat- I would not want to be in their shoes. And as a patient- we need to understand that what they say is not gospel either-- gotta find that happy medium.

Good morning everyone! My son is 18 today. I am feeling a bit emotional. I love that kid!!
QOTD- I have learned so much here on OH. I was talking to my husband about the boards the other day. It is my support group. The hospital that I had my surgery at, has a monthly support group meeting, but its an hour away and at 7 pm. I am usually in bed by 8pm. I would of been lost post surgery without this board, seriously!!
B- chicken sausage
L-3 oz taco meat with 1 TBSP salsa
D-bbq steak
S-a shake to bump up protein
Have a great day everyone!
