I woke up around 7:30 this morning, which is sleeping in as I usually get up on weekdays at 5:30 AM.  Today is my husband's birthday and he has asked for German themed food, so I made him German puff pancakes for Breakfast and will make a German theme for dinner as well.  Birthdays are tough because I always end up cooking special meals and yummy desserts for my kids and husband, and I have several birthdays in February.

I live in Oregon, about 35 minutes southeast of Portland.  We have had a particularly cold winter here, with more snow than we are used to having.  Usually our winters are mostly rainy.  We can go years without any snow at all, though it DOES get cold (below freezing) it just doesn't usually rain/snow at the same time as the cold weather.  Not so this year.  Last month Portland got hit with a surprise snow storm (our forecasters have a tough time accurately forecasting when a snow storm will come due to the variants that all have to come together) and Portland got over a foot of snow.  It shut the city down.  We are not equipped for that.  We've had several snow/ice storms since  mid December.  We've had  multiple snow days for the schools.  They are talking about tacking extra days onto the end of the school year.

For food today I will have the following:

B - mocha protein drink with fairlife milk

S - 1/8 german puff pancake with sugar free jam

L - small leftover helping of tuna casserole; syntrax protein drink

D - 1/4 german sausage, small potato pancake, red cabbage

S - not sure yet

Good afternoon. The winter sucked at the start. Lots of ice, snow and subzero temps. Seemed so early, but then we have been very mild lately. February usually is our worst for winter and next weekend it's supposed to be in the high 50s.  Wow. I usually count the days to March. For us, it has been great.

B. Steak omelette - half cup; 2/3 piece rye toast with smear of marmalade

L Thai chicken and basil - half cup

S Banana premier shake

D Beef tenderloin 3 oz. small salad

S jerky

Good {Late} afternoon! hope everyone has had an enjoyable weekend doing whatever it is that makes you happy! I have spent my weekend going shopping for my girls who will be starting preschool on wed... I AM NOT READY!!! Why must babies grow so quickly:( I am not supposed to have to almost three year olds already!!!

Anyways.. I digress.

QOTD: I live in Kansas, smack dab in the middle of the country. And our weather has been 110% disappointing for a snow/winter lover like me. We have gotten a grand total of 8 inches of snow this winter... BARELY!! And one imaginary ice storm that had the whole Kansas city metro worried about nothing. I can say that I think that this winter is officially over for us since this weeks highs will be in the upper 60s nearing the end of the week. Todays High: 50 and extremely windy... YAY!

Once again I am on my preop diet so no fun eating here for me. However, I am down 5.9 pounds since I weighed myself Thursday morning, so this liquid thing is looking a little more exciting! 16 days to go until my surgery date; and 5 days down on my 21 day liquid diet! I am excited.

B: Bananas and Cream Premir Protein shake

S: Gaterade G2

L: beef broth

{30 mins later} Chocolate Premir Protein Shake

S: Sugar free jello

D: chicken and herb broth

{30 mins later} Carmel Premir Protein Shake

S: Sugar free popsicle ~if need/want~

I have sipped on several bottles of water, and have made a new friend in my restroom:)
