I am a morning person. I always have been. I love my quiet morning when I sip my coffee in front of the fire and talk to the dog. I am usually up by 5am  on the weekends and 4am during the week.

I live in Washington State in the Columbia River Gorge. I am about 45 minutes from Portland. We have been slammed this year with lots of ice storms and snow. We have had 15 missed days of school.

My husband and I are leaving today for the coast. Its supposed to be upper 40's and sunny. We rented a cabin. I am excited to get away, even if its just for one night. This will be the first time that I am going to eat out since surgery.

B- chicken sausage

L-not really sure

D-I think we will be grilling some sort of meat at the cabin

S- I am bringing a can of tuna, Mr. Chomps beef sticks and 2 packets of syntrax nectar for emergency food.

Have a great day everyone!

I live in northwest Arkansas...our weathers are usually mild, and this has been very mild even by our standards. We get more ice than snow...usually when we are in trouble it's due to ice. We have had snow once this year, just a dusting, much to my kids' annoyance. When we do get snow, even if it's several inches, it melts quickly.

I love Pinterest...I find it genuinely helpful ,looking up garden ideas and tips, homeschooling stuff, etc.

Menu is a bit up in the air. We have church today with a potluck after, and today is the day we are supposed to go to that break out room with friends. But one of the moms had a daughter that started vomiting last night...and her teenager was supposed to babysit for us at their house...I haven't heard from her this morning but I think things are falling apart. :/

Breakfast- protein bar this morning. Need quick and portable and I am out of my usual quick and portables.

Lunch- potluck, no idea, but it will be protein.

Snack- none needed. Lunch will be later than usual.

Dinner- if our plans hold up, we are supposed to go to an Indian place? If not, maybe that steak I didn't have the other night.

Snack- leftover hummus from yesterday if I need something, on cucumber.

Up at about 6 this morning like most every day. With such  a set schedule you would think I work. But no,I get up because the dog is ready for her walk. She's walked with me the last three days and will get her stitches out tomorrow. She had been having some lameness in her back legs which I assumed was arthritis but apparently the tumor was pushing on a nerve and now that the mass is gone she is walking so much better. Now I really won't be able to keep Up! We have our 3.2 miles in already today. I live in Illinois, right across the river from St Louis Missouri. We've had an odd winter too with basically very little snow(2 storms with less that 2 inches total) and wide temperature variations. Last Tuesday was over 70 and the next morning there was a dusting of snow and 30 degree temps. It's been a strange one. Post op 4 years 5.25 months and weight up a bit at 118 today. No Mira lax yesterday and not enough fluids will do that every time. Here's the food plan for today B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 31/2 oz deli meat and cheese raw veggies D 31/2 oz baked fish 1/2 c sliced tomatoes S mission one chocolate brownie protein bar.  Goal today is to do better on fluids and stay away from extra bites. Have a great day everyone and make some amazing choices that move you one step closer to your goal!

Good morning everyone! Not much planned for today beyond laundry and possibly going out later to visit with family. The candied bacon experiment is complete and he seems pleased with the results. It was a little messy but it cleaned up pretty easily.

QOTD I live about an hour west of Toronto near the end of Lake Ontario (about an hour away from Buffalo) and our winter has been been split into pre and post Christmas. Prior to Christmas we had a few good storms and it looked like it would be a busy shoveling year but since Boxing Day when everything melted we've had the odd dustings here and there but nothing significant. We woke up this morning to the most volume we've seen in awhile and there might be two inches out there. It's turned to rain now so it will either disappear or the rain will stop and the snow will be nice and heavy. If the latter happens I'm up for the workout!

B- coffee w. SF hazelnut

L- 4 turkey slices, 1 tbs. tzatziki

D- ribs (ended up having chicken sausage last night instead so maybe these get cooked tonight)

S- protein drink, tuna

Totals 578 cal, 73g protein, 4g carbs

Enjoy your Sunday!!

I used to do pinterest and then gave it up - but lately I've been on it again to find Instant Pot recipes and ideas for protein shakes (have to keep things interesting since I may be stuck with these things forever!)

QOTD:  I live in Madison, Wisconsin.  We've had a pretty mild winter - for Wisconsin.  We don't usually get a ton of snow (maybe 30"?  40" a year?  Half (or less) than what we got when I lived in northern Ohio, because we're on the wrong side of a Great Lake here (or the *right* side, depending on your perspective)).  But it can get SUPER cold here - way more so than anywhere else I've ever lived.  But this winter hasn't been bad, except for a handful of days.  It's been in the 30s/low 40s a lot lately, and a lot of the snow has melted.  It's very sunny out today to boot!  (actually, Wisconsin is pretty sunny in general compared to some other places I've lived - like, again, northern Ohio...)

20 months out:

B:  L&F coconut vanilla yogurt topped with fresh raspberries and 1 T Kashi Crunch granola

S:  coffee with half & half, NSA protein/fiber mango lassi

L:  meeting my sister, niece, and mother - depends on where we go.  Either a cup of chili or a chicken/grape/walnut salad with yogurt dressing

D:  pork loin roast, Chinese-style Brussels sprouts

exercise:  Aqua Zumba!  My ankle is still a little hurty when I bend it in certain ways, but I have got to start exercising again regardless!  I really miss it!!
