Oh yum; sounds great!  One day when I can eat real food again, in the future, lol, I'll look into those.

I'm sure your blender is up to the task. I simply love the Kitchen Aid Immersion Blender though. I have not used my Ninja or magic bullet since getting it. It crushes ice so well! As far as I'm concerned, it's the one appliance I would recommend.

I never puréed anything. My surgeon  never really required puréed foods, he said soft food so I bought things that were already very soft like canned chili, refried beans, ricotta cheese, yogurt, etc. The thing I used most and still use a lot is my shake bottle and my little shake blender. A crockpot is nice to he able to cook meats nice and soft. I guess an instapot does that too but I don't have one. I use my immersion blender quite a bit to to make guacamole and Greek yogurt dips and hummus. When you do start eating meat, dips and sauces help it go down better.

Thanks for the tip about dips and sauces.  I have a long way to go before I can have meat.  I have a crockpot.

I have a food processor but rarely use it.  I puree most things in my blender, which I use several times a week  I bought a new one right around the time I got WLS (my old one conveniently died) - it's a Kitchenaid that has two pitchers - a 56 oz one and then a small one (maybe 28 oz?  Not sure...).  The small one was great during the puree stage.

I also love my immersion blender for pureeing soups.  Easier than dumping everything into the blender.

I use my Instant Pot a lot - esp for things like stews and beans (way quicker than the old-fashioned way), hard boiled eggs (shells peel right off- without one molecule of egg white on them) and yogurt.

I'd be hard pressed to rank them re: their usefulness for WLS patients.  I guess the food processor would be at the bottom of the list.  Immersion blender vs. Instant Pot - I guess your ranking would depend on your cooking style and what kinds of things you like to eat...

I bought all kinds of stuff.  What did I use in the first 3 months.  The blender.  My wife got the Ninja professional - it's pretty nice.  I used the mini food processor 3 times.  I'm glad it wasn't too expensive and will use it on occasion.  I got an immersion blending stick  It's cool, but never got to use it.  I ate yogurt and broth most days and didn't get tired of it.  My wife does have an instant pot somewhere, so I'm waiting to use that due to all the buzz here.

Not really an appliance but a cup, I would recommend since you are only 11 days post- op investing in a blender bottle as well.  Sometimes our tiny pouches cant handle the air and foam from the blender at first as we will pulse on high. Or we dont want ice in it (blech). But the blender bottle allows you to make it without having to put ice in it or have the foaminess. Maybe i just use my blender wrong . I just like EVERYTHING on high anyway.

Off to google the instant pot. this is new to me. and Yes yes on the air fryer. this is on my amazon wish list (incase my husband is perusing and he needs an idea for valentine's day *wink wink*)
