Premier Protein
I'm feeling a bit dumb because I never read the ingredients before. Premier Protein has whey protein concentrate not isolate. My centre said that all protein supplements should be isolate. So I'm curious as to why PP is so popular?
RNY Jan 12, 2017 Lost 137 lbs but regained 60.
77 lbs lost and counting!
Losing the regain! I got this!
Because it is tasty, cheap and RTD. And whey isolate may be ideal...But concentrate is a second best IMO.
Some people get lactose Intolerance post op. The premier shakes may make the sick.

I like that it has 30 g of protein in one serving, so 2 gets me to 60 g. I know I need to work up to 90 g but for the first 2 weeks post op I'm happy to be able to get 60 every day.
I like the flavors, and haven't had any trouble digesting it. I have some protein isolate powders; maybe I'll make some up later instead of my second premier protein and see if there's a difference.

Isolate is absorbed better but that doesn't mean concentrates aren't... it's just not the BEST absorbed. Here's the thing... don't put all your protein grams in one basket. Food, supplements change them up and don't rely on one source or type and you will be good to go. I am of the thought that any protein you can consume is better than none.
Add some powder to the RTD, ice and blend.
I read on some post here that our bodies can only take in about 30 grams of protein at a time. I do not know if it is true but would be a reason not to overload...
