New Sighlines

For me to have the greatest success I have to have my kitchen set up right. For me that means not seeing things I really want to eat and shouldn't right when I walk in the kitchen.

I need my fridge to have my stuff on my shelf. The new bread box/garage means I don't see bread or the cousins bagels and tortillas.

I've just redid a cabinet I never open into the boy child's cheetos and other crap he likes.

I also have a bowl of washed grapes in the fridge. Everyone are grabbing those!

Did you change what you see when you go in to the kitchen?

This really helps. Out of sight out of mind.  At least for most things.  If I put it away in a place that I don't go often, I don't think about it. Now, if it's something that I LOVE and that is a trigger food for me, I'm always aware of where it is in the house.  Forget about it if I have Triscuits in the house.  I'd eat those ******s out of the bathroom trashcan.

This seriously made me laugh!! What is it about those damn triscuit! They are seriously like crack! I feel like all crackers in general are to tempting.

I kinda like sighlines. That was a good typo. I do sigh sometimes just walking in the kitchen.

It sounds like you've done a superb job of removing temptation from your field of vision. Fortunately for me, everyone in my house decided to eat clean so my fridge/kitchen is free of temptation. There's nothing like your little one reminding you to restock the fruits and veggies. Lol

Out of sight out of mind definetly helps....even with things I do allow myself, if they are sitting out I will eat them too often or while I am walking by one will pop it self into my mouth.

I live alone, but still have a cabinet with things for company.  Potato chips, crackers, cookies, etc. live in a cabinet of their own.  I am short and have them in a cabinet on the high shelf, so I would need to drag out a stool to get to them.

My DH is 6'5" and hides the bad stuff on a high shelf like you.  I seem to have a sixth sense when he's got some new stash finding a reacher tool much safer than dragging out a stool.  Sigh, I've just revealed why I am here at 4 o'clock in the morning.
