What's on your menu today (PHOTO FRIDAY) RNYers?
Well yesterday's snow turned out to not amount to much. I was apparently a bit hasty about calling the snow day because before the library even would have been open to the public at 1pm it had basically turned into a beautiful sunny day with clear streets - oops. I can only imagine my staff loved it though, so I'll just chalk it up to good karma points with them.
Since I'm still a newly wed, I'm going to share a collage of wedding pictures. I may have share this before, I can't remember, but you'll have to put up with it again!
I work tomorrow - bla. Since we're down to just our 11 fulltime staff members, we rotate through the weekends and tomorrow is my turn. When I decided I would be part of the rotation, it seemed like a good will gesture to the staff, shared sacrifice and all that - but every time it's my turn to work a Saturday I curse myself for being so "nice" and wish I had played the "I'm in charge and spend more evenings at meetings than I ever though possible" card. Oh well...thus is life.
QOTD: Thanks for the reminder, Daze, I honestly don't think I've consciously done a random act of kindness for a while. I usually try to pay for the coffee of the person behind me a few times a month or that sort of thing, but I just haven't lately. I did knit and distribute several ***** hats recently - maybe that's it....?
Time since surgery: 2 years + 10 months
B: coffee and...you'll never guess! baked egg and turkey sausage!
S: cottage cheese
L: avocado toast (in my most recent labs my LDL - is that the good cholesterol? - was a little low, so my doc said I should eat more avocado - which I am more than happy to do!)
S: string cheese and nuts
D: finally trying to make a cauliflower crust pizza
S: good cheese!
V/W: on track
E: did another indoor walking video this morning and liked this one much better. I love starting out the day with an decent number of steps already under my belt!
Since I'm working tomorrow, I'm cutting out of here super early at noon - yippee!

Why thank you! I tried on traditional gowns, but they just weren't me.
Yes, all the flowers were knit and crocheted - with the help of an army of crafty family and friends, including a few OH friends actually! I'm a HUGE knitter and knew I wanted to have something knit incorporated into the wedding - fell down an infinite Pinterest hole looking for ideas and found this. We ended up making several hundred flowers and leaves for my bouquet and our two attendants, corsages and boutonnieres, hair pieces for my nieces, and even table decorations.

THANK YOU! I loved them as well, it felt so special having something that my "circle of women" helped me create.
My mom, who doesn't crochet, painstakingly crocheted one white bloom (with the help of my godmother) using yarn from the stash of my paternal grandmother who passed away back when I was a tween. It was so incredibly special! I tear up every time I think about it.
