Please keep sharing your NSVs. Someone start one tomorrow.

The scale can sometimes really be a pain in the ass. I get on mine daily. I just know for me it works. But NSVs are awesome when things get tough.

I still consider myself a newbie. So many vets have really helped me. They have kept their weight off. They really help.

I know it takes time to post and read. But it really helps others. I mean I love to hear about people losing a lot in the first year. I also like to hear about how they have gotten through situations that have been hard to deal with.

Just knowing someone else here has gone through what you are going through can make this a lot easier. Even if it is minor.

I am over three years out and I know now is harder than the first year. I don't ever want to gain back the weight that I lost. I am vain but I also enjoy being able to run the playground with the kids.

Well here is an NSV.  I retireed on 2009 at 51.  I got a job at a store, opening packages and moving around 10-40 pounds.  The problem is that it was only part time.  I then got a job full time in a warehouse picking items for a drug store, so not much lifting, but a lot of bending and reaching.  I didn't want to give up my part time because I love it, and not sure if I will meet the production numbers of the full time job.  Both jobs are on cement floors.  I worked 70 hours this week.  The only pain is from falling off a step ladder on the weekend.

I remember when I was  30 years younger and would have to soak my feet, and wanted to sit after an  8 hour job in a factory.  Now I am almost 60, and working 70 hours without pain from the job.

Life is wonderful.

I could zip up my knee high boots this morning easily.  Two months ago, I struggled to get them half way up my calves.

Is it too late to respond (I didn't see this thread before).

It's been 12 days since surgery and my NSV's are:

My tops are all super baggy and my V neck tops can only be worn as pajamas now because the V's  now descend half way down my stomach, lol.

I can sit cross legged, and was doing it without noticing.

Best of all, I just realized I have gone over one whole month, since starting my pre-op liquid diet, with NO SHAME.  Shame was a regular part of my life because every day I"d try to be "good" and fail.  It just occurred to me today that I haven't felt shame since I started my pre-op diet over a month ago.  I also feel self confident for the first time in ages.  Best NSV ever.

Pre-Op Visit: Jan. 10, 2017, weight 304, surgeon: Dr. David Lindsay, St. Joe's, Toronto

1st Day of (3 weeks worth of) Optifast: Jan. 11, 2017

Surgery Date: Feb. 1st, 2017
