I'm afraid it might have gone a little too well!! When we took it out it looked so much better than last time and the texture was vastly improved. He keeps circling back to the containers and I'm wondering how long $35 worth of beef is going to last!!

I have the same problem when I make jerky, BF and DS can't stop eating it! It is so much better than anything you could ever buy and worth it! What meat do you use use?

We've used Eye of Round both times so far because I read a few recipes/sites that recommended it but I'm open to suggestion. This weekend he wants to try making candied bacon. It won't be any good for me because it's just bacon covered in brown sugar but it also doesn't tempt me. My concern is the suggested drying time... up to 60 hrs!!

I don't know what kind of dehydrator you have, but mine has 6 trays that stack and the top piece is where the heater/fan unit is. I use London broil for my jerky. It usually goes on sale and I will pick up about 3 pound one for about around 12 bucks. That will fill my dehydrator easily. My machine says 6 hours for jerky, but it usually only takes that long for the thicker pieces. I like it on the tender side, so I check on it and pull the smaller, thinner pieces off as they get there. 60 hours for that bacon is crazy!!!!

Good morning menu crew! 4 weeks ago today I had surgery - I weighed in at 261 this morning. 20.3 lbs down from my highest weight.
Couches. Ugh. We have a couch and chair that is I believe French Provincial. The fabric is blue velvet and it's at least 40 years old. It belonged to my in-laws and they had it reupholstered when my husband was a kid. They handed it down to us about 10-11 years ago. We were happy to get it but it sinks down to far now. I would love to have a new set but this set does fit into our little living room very well. The couch is a 4 seater so it's long and fits 4 people but it's not wide so it leaves room that way. Someday we will get a new couch! We just had to get a new mattress set for us and then for our oldest son so no immediate plans.
B: coffee protein shake
L: Greek yogurt maybe?
D: Not sure yet
Here's a before - from the night before surgery and from last night.
