What's on your Menu Today (Thursday) RNYers?
This story is heartbreaking. I cannot believe she was prescribed a stimulant with her history.
I feel the same as you and the others.
It's hokey and i don't know if it actually affects my decisions, but i try to spend a few moments of mindfulness each morning and reflect on my gratitude for the previous day, and express humility with regard to the day to come. Not long, just time to take stock. I hope it helps keep my head in the game...

Daisy - nice way to do a free survey ;)
Our family room couch is only 3 years old, but I killed it with 500+ pounds sitting in the same spot. My wife still isn't happy about that. But that is tough. She bought it without asking me and she bought a recliner couch, no less. Needless to say the mechanism on my side is broken and I've never tried to put the legs out. The padding is also killed. The couch actually dips down on my end about 3 inches, so I assume I broke the frame or leg. I never flipped it over yet for fear of the answer. But its dead. I think she might be waiting for me to finish losing weight before calling LaZBoy to see if they will fix it under warranty. I doubt it. Our living room couch is very comfortable and I've only slightly compressed the cushion. Its a 3 piece sectional curved couch. Nice for conversations and seats 5 comfortably. All four of us can lay on the couch together and watch TV (me, wife and 2 dogs). It's kind of fun. I'd probably keep that type of couch as long as possible. But it was purchased at a high end store, so it is near custom made. In order to answer your question - is do you entertain? If so, get the 3 seater and the chair. We have the 5 seater couch and a chair. It really is nice when company is over. Don't get the exact same material and color on both. I like complementary fabrics and colors. It is much more flexible. Unless you are messy I'd go fabric vs. leather. The couch in the family room should have been leather as that gets more abuse. But the main living area needs fabric unless you have a western themed home or a log cabin - IMHO.
I see the PA tomorrow for the surgeon. She's scary, but she is great. I saw her at the support group Monday and she said she wants to talk to me about the NUT visit. Damn more about the half cup. Crap. The NUT ratted me out. I really think I'm going to be giving up salad, as this cup of lettuce things appears to be a big deal. Really? A deal breaker? It's a loose leaf unpacked cup measure. Other than that and the 6 ounce yogurt, I'm at 100% compliance. I really hope we aren't going to spend too much time on this. Uncle! Uncle!
B L/F Greek Yogurt with tbsp granola
L 3.5 ounces of pulled pork with 2 tbs bbq sauce. The last of the 1.5 pounds of pulled pork and half pound of sausage purchase from the Captain Porky's that I bought for superbowl. That means I ate all of that in a week. I guess I've been eating a lot of pork this week :)
D Possibly my last salad, we'll see. 1 cup and 3 ounces of lunch meat ham with some mustard and sliced banana peppers
S R/F cheese stick; Banana premier protein; Ostrim Jerkee stick
Good morning Daisy and menu friends, how many weeks till spring? Ugh I've had enough. I took a nasty fall on the ice yesterday. I hurt my knee and my back. Just going to take it easy today.
QOTD : currently we have a couch love seat combo and a recliner. Hate it. Next time I'd like a sectional with a built-in chaise lounge. Not sure what fabric I want.
Menu Didn't have much appetite yesterday so I didn't eat much.

HELP! I have a crazy woman here who is spending the day Instant-potting and sous videing anything that moves! If we had a cat, it would have been in the pot by now! She's out of control!

I hope you all hunker down, bundle up and stay warm! I kind of wish we were having a snow day...or some sort of "stay home" weather day. I just want to be at home. Actually, I want a day just like JB's day with the sous vide cooking!
QOTD: Don't take advise from me. I went to 30 different stores to shop for my couch and it was so frustrating! We decided on a sectional so the whole family could fit on the couch together. We couldn't really afford leather so we went with fabric. The couch is only a year old and there are already saggy cushions and the fabric stinks from the dogs and kids. We paid more to have it sprayed with the protection coating but I feel like they didn't do it. Anyway, we hate the couch and it's not even paid off yet. BUT it is amazingly comfortable!!! I have to periodically patrol during the night because the kids will sneak out of their rooms to go sleep on it.

Good morning everyone! Sounds like there's a whole lot of winter weather happening out there! I'm in the "Great White North" and there's not a flake of snow and the sun is shining. Somehow we've managed to avoid any of the ice and there hasn't been an accumulation of snow that lasted more than a day or two since before Christmas. Strange winter indeed.
We made another batch of beef jerky last night and it was much better this time after spending less time in the dehydrator. Sooo much better.
QOTD All of my furniture is microfiber and it's pretty easy to take care of. Upstairs in the living room that no one ever uses I only have a love seat right now. I got rid of the couch a few years ago after it had spent years being my previous dogs lookout spot. It was in front of the big front window and my old girl would spent hours perched over the back of i****ching the world go by or waiting impatiently for us to return home. Downstairs there's a reclining couch and a reclining love seat. I can count on one hand the number of times I've sat on that couch in the past 10+ years. My spot is on the love seat and when my BF started coming around he took up residency beside me on the love seat. (Very weird for me at first) The two of us are a whole lot to ask of one piece of furniture and it was quite cozy but I enjoy sitting together over separately. Recently it's been noted how much the space between us is growing and the cuddling options have improved.
