It's a snow day! The snow is coming down here like crazy right now. It is SUPER STRESSFUL to be the person who has to decide about closing for the day, I can't imagine being a school district superintendent when you're literally responsible for the lives of the students on buses, etc... The Fella headed to work at his normal time and made it with no problem, he told me they rescheduled all their patients for today so I have no idea why they're even going into the office, but who knows!

The snow day has my eating plans thrown for a bit of a loop. Being home and "unstructured" is always a bit rough on me. What will I have in between binge watching Netflix?!

QOTD: Couches! I hear you on agonizing on this. We have a 3-seater couch and chairs (one is a push back recliner) and I love that. I sometimes find squishing onto a couch with guests (or as a guest) uncomfortable, so I like having both options. I tend towards a longer couch so that you can stretch out!

Time since surgery: 2 years + 10 months

B: coffee, baked egg and turkey sausage

Snacks and Lunch ????

D: BBQ meatloaf

V/W: started

E: no 6am yoga, the gym is having a late opening, think I'll SWorkIt in a bit!

Good morning guys!

I'm finally back to feeling normal once again - yesterday was a catch-up day and before I knew it the day was over and I'd missed my post, blah!  It was gorgeous outside yesterday so after I picked up my kiddo from school I spent a bit of time tending the front yard....getting rid of dead flowers, spray painting the mailbox pole, etc.  Our weather has been so nuts that stuff is trying to bloom already....in February!   Today it's back to being cold, because our weather is spastic ....we've got a couple days of 50s and then back to the mid 70s this weekend.   We're going to take advantage of it and grill on Sunday....mmmmm steak!  I've given up any hope of seeing snow again this winter.  In more exciting news I got an email from our breeder yesterday, and in a few weeks we'll know if we're going to be puppy parents later this year (well after I've healed up from surgery mind you!)  I'm sooooooooo excited

QOTD:  So we currently have a brown suede recliner couch, and a big puffy recliner....they were the first pieces of 'adult' furniture we bought when we closed on our first house almost 7 years ago.  I'm not fond of them because like Daisy's....the frames haven't held up that well.  I'm not replacing them anytime soon though....with a 5 year old crumb-monster and an incoming puppy (potentially) it would be silly to do it now, incidentally I feel the same way about replacing the carpeting in our house. When we do replace them I want a sectional that we can break....and I'm a fan of big squishy comfortable couches with enough seat space for napping, because I hate feeling like I'm going to fall off the couch.   Whatever we end up with years from now....I don't think I'll do a reclining couch again.  I think instead I'll do a couch/ottoman combo (with storage space in the ottoman!)

Menu:

B: Premier protein shake, decaf tea w/FF 1/2 and 1/2

S: EAS protein shake

L: leftover pork-chop, broccoli

S: TBD

D: TBD

Have a great day guys!

Sometimes I think the recliners are ruining our relationships, because we both end up on opposite sides of the couch with our feet up, not touching and snuggling...

I think I want an ottoman next time too.

Good morning!

We have a dog so we have leather furniture which is easy to keep clean.  We just got a reclining couch.  It is not fashionable, but it is SO comfortable.

B: Premier chocolate protein shake

L: 1/2 c 4% milk fat cheese

D: Tuna pouch, maybe with full fat mayo

Good Morning and happy Friday-eve.  I don't want to brag but we hit 69 yesterday and should be close to that later today but then the rain is coming back. Some areas not too far from me (within an hour) are being evacuated due to flooding because we have gotten so much rain lately and it can't soak into the ground. Also, trees are falling like crazy because we had been in a drought for the last few years that the tree roots are dying and when the ground gets saturated they fall...not sure if I am explaining it well.  I hope everyone stays safe everywhere.

QOTD: We just got a new couch at the end of November. We prefer sectionals and this one has three parts that recline (one for each of us) and they are mechanical. I think it's a suede type material. We got a really good deal on it at Macy's furniture store.  We did decide not to encourage the animals to lay on this one...they each have a bed and Ruppert hangs out on Emily's bed ALL.DAY.LONG. I added a pic (it was one I took when they did the floor) but it's a little dark so hard to see the couch.

Morning everyone!

I'm having a hard time right now... last night, for dinner, I had about 5 handfuls of corn tortilla chips, and two coffees with extra Fairlife milk and whipped cream (yes, the canned stuff that I swore off around Thanksgiving)... For lunch, I had 3 servings of these sugar free cookies that I thought would be great to buy! (why?)... the rest of my beef jerky... and the last of the single serving pack of nuts I had at my desk... breakfast was the only really good meal... Oh, and for a snack, I had 2 pieces of the Russel Stoffers sugar free caramel turtles (With all of the sugar free snacks I had, I was truly a delight to be around last night! Hahaha)...

What a great day it was.... NOT!

I have a FB friend that I have met once or twice... she is a recovering drug addict that actually spent some time living on the streets (She is also a transgender who just started coming out after finding her way off the streets) She made her way to recovery, found a roommate, and got a job at Dell because of a great friend that worked there, she made it through training, and was doing really great working the call center lines (she's very transparent online, so I probably know more about her than I should LOL). She received insurance and was able to go on hormones to help with the transition... and then her doctor prescribed something for ADHD (This woman is in her early 60's btw)... she went on a bender (because of? with the help of?) with those ADHD meds, ended up about 2 hours away in a hotel room, and I don't know exactly what other drugs happened, but she went on a downward spiral, binge drinking, taking other drugs, etc...for about 2 weeks. She lost her job at Dell (actually she quit, because suddenly the stress was too much and she freaked out, Dell was willing to work with her for her to keep her job), and is now living in a halfway house (her old roommate is a recovering alcoholic and had to ask her to leave)... she is just one step from being that homeless person she was only about 1.5 years ago...

This story hits home with me in so many ways, and if you just replace the words 'drugs', 'alcohol' with 'food', Job with WLS... etc... this could be any of our stories...(and I am relating to it heavily lately)

So what keeps one alcoholic/binge eater/drug addict/stress eater on the path to righteousness, and what makes the next person forever fighting homelessness/obesity??

I plan on stepping back up to the plate (of healthy foods) today, and not beating myself up too much over this... but the similarities of her life can so easily be related to my struggles (and a lot of us, I know)...

I find myself with all of this extra energy (nervous energy, jittery energy) when I start to obsess over the food... I need to figure out how to channel that into something else... and I have, and I will again... but yesterday really sucked, and I wanted to be real with ya'll...

QOTD: Couches... ours are all leather, good quality with recliners. They are heavy though! They have held up well to many medium/small dogs over the years, but they are starting to show wear and tear (about 10 years old)... we've decided to keep them until the kids are out of the house and we move into a new home... thank goodness, because I hate shopping for them too!

OK, new day, new menu!

B: Venti decaf skinny vanilla latte, and soon 1 of the egg white bites

S: the other egg white bite

L: Leftover chicken Parmesan that I didn't eat yesterday

S: I dont know... all of the snacks are gone now from my desk (Thank gawd!) cheese stick when I get home if I need it

D: Leftover jambalaya, no rice

S: Decaf fairlife latte

Weight this morning 155.8
