Happy HUMP Day everyone :)
The mysterious Horses should be back at their home now... yesterday they came and picked them up (neighbors 1 house down, behind us), but last night around 5 they got out again... we told them, but at dusk/dark, they were still out in our neighbor's back pasture (unfenced)... I couldn't tell if they were back in our pasture this morning since it was dark out, but hopefully not!
QOTD: I'm not exactly a 'hater' of VDay, but I'm not a huge fan of it either... (That's surprising, I know... LOL) BUT, I would never want chocolates for Valentine's either way... I'm not of fan of going out to eat that night either, but I do like a special meal at home! I like something special for the day, but flowers and a card work just fine. That being said, I'm breaking tradition this year, and I'm getting Hubby a day pass to River Sport Adventures (OK, I'm giving him two, one for him, one for me!)... You can do river rapids (man-made, but very cool), tubing (again, man made), water slides, those paddle surf board thingies, kyacks, and zip lining across the river. It's all located in the heart of the city, so it's not like a wilderness adventure. But I decided I really want to start concentrating on 'experiences' as presents (and rewards for me, too, as I hit the last goals), so this is one we'll be able to do when it warms up a bit!
I'm very frustrated with both myself and the scale... I know I've not been perfect, so that makes me frustrated with myself, but I also really feel like I've not been that bad, and if only the scale would play nicer, so would I (not the most sound thoughts, I realize)... weight this morning 156.0 (actually up a lb from yesterday)
So, thoughts on this one... I've started working out, right? For about a month now. Mostly strength training, less on the cardio end. Weights, floor exercises, mostly. So, has anyone else hit a stall as they have started working out? I've heard a million times that muscle weighs more than fat... blah, blah, blah... but I've always had so much fat on my body that I never bought that line. Now I'm willing to consider it, but only if it's more of a stall as the body adjusts, and not a permanent thing (I've been stalled since after losing during CAMAW)... Just curious what others think.
So today I grabbed a container of the Jambalaya I made last night (3ounces), 3 ounces of chicken parmigan from the freezer, and 3 ounces of chicken crack from the freezer... all low carb great choices... I just don't know when I'll eat each one... or if I'll actually eat 3 today (highly doubtful since I have to leave at 2 to take my son to the doc)... so that's my menu... planned, but up in the air. Dinner will most likely be a fend for yourself... so I may have a ham and cheese roll up.

Hi Pam, I feel your pain about the dang scale! I've been working out at the gym now for about a month as well and the darn scale keeps yo-yoing back and forth. I'm trying to do some calorie cycling this week, higher for a couple days then lower again. Have to do something right?
I don't buy the muscle weighs more than fat....a lb is a lb....does a pound of feathers weigh more than a pound of stone? No they're both a pound....
Hang in there, as I am trying to do as well, something's gotta give, eventually! You've done awesome so far, and are in the home stretch, those last pounds are going to play havoc on you!
Thanks for the reminder! I know I'm really close to my original goal, but I've also pretty much decided I want to go lower than that... if my body will cooperate (and part of that body is the damn brain and mouth! LOL)... so now I'm getting myself all worried again... I did this about 20 pounds ago, too... maybe it's a cycle...
We can keep sane during this, Yes We Can!

YES- I noticed a decline in the scale movement when I started working out. Since it is yoga it is more weight based strength training. It has been about a month and a 1/2 since I started yoga pretty much every day. Either I do 15 min during day then another 10-40 minutes at night. It mostly also is to help with stress and to pump up my arms - lol

I was the opposite, never had a stall when I worked out, lost weight steadily when I worked out. I started to work out hard at about 7 months post op, prior to that was just walking and hiking with the dogs. But at 7 months post op I joined the gym with my next door neighbour who moved in June 2014, we did step class (high cardio) and lots of muscle pump classes (weight training) and then I started running and the weight came off. Everyone is different, everybody reacts different.
There are vets on here that have never worked out and lost all their weight and more. I think a lot of vets will tell you its about the calories. You have heard it all before, if you are not losing weight you are either in maintenance or eating too many calories. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news! LOL
